Here is how this role will be critical to our business :
Preparation, control, and submission of all tax filings for Panama, as well as supporting and tracking corporate tax filings prepared by external service providers for the rest of the countries under scope (8 LATAM countries), ensuring compliance with fiscal obligations of each of these jurisdictions.
Assist implementation strategies and / or localized guidelines to avoid future litigation and mitigate tax risks, whilst providing support to internal / external stakeholders for tax related topics or initiatives (tax accounting, tax reporting, tax audits, etc.).
Ability to collaborate efficiently with staff at all levels within Syngenta
Prepare all tax filings and tax related activities for Panama, acting as focal point to represent Syngenta before Panamanian Tax Authority and other regulatory Institutions when related to tax issues (Contraloría, MICI, Ministerio de Agricultura, etc.).
Ensure corporate tax filings for 8 branch offices in above mentioned CAC and Andean countries are prepared and submitted in compliance with regulatory requirements and Syngenta-internal quality standards and procedures.
Manage and coordinate ongoing requests and open audits from Tax Authorities in close collaboration with Finance Centre and Tax Operations (inter alia responsible for indirect tax filings for above mentioned branch offices).
Consolidation of overall tax performance at corporate legal entity level (Panama entity including branches in listed countries).
Responsible for fundamental changes of processes to eliminate inefficiencies and improve effectiveness and quality of the tax compliance for consolidated Panama IMC.
Generally, requires broad understanding of the activities performed by Syngenta Panama and countries under its scope.
Support Syngenta Group corporate initiatives and projects requiring tax input, providing sound tax advice as a subject matter expert (SME).
Analyze the risks of direct and indirect taxes in each operation.
Builds relationships with key contacts within own network, internally and occasionally externally.

Essential for this position :
Tax Senior Analyst or Specialist with experience in the corporate tax area.
Familiar with local Panamanian Tax Law, PA Tax Authorities, and its regulations.
Finance and accounting knowledge, with sound experience in IFRS accounting standards.
Intermediate or higher level of English.
Experience with SAP tools.
Ability to build and maintain good interpersonal relationships and professional networks in a complex multinational matrix organization.
Ability to adapt to changes.
Self-starter, results-driven, with ability to work with limited supervision with high attention to detail.
In-house experience in multinational companies.
Tax knowledge on other Central American or Andean countries.
