At Roche Diabetes Care we are looking for a Business Head for Central America and Caribbean, based in Panamá.

The purpose of this position is being responsible for setting the strategic direction for Roche Diabetes Care Central America and Caribbean in alignment with the Corporate Strategy and developing and implementing plans to achieve the short-

term and long-term business objectives. This includes responsibility for all main financial goals as well as responsibility for the countries which are part of the Central America and Caribbean region, as well ensuring compliance with all applicable local laws and regulations.

The main responsibilites or core tasks are :

  • Leading strategy execution : Develops and implements local plans / strategy that are aligned with the broader global strategy.
  • Strategic and operational / tactical leadership of the countries sales and distribution operations. Contributes to global / regional strategy by providing input about local external environment and customers.

    Works collaboratively to adapt global and regional strategy to local healthcare environment. Leads the Central American and Caribbean Countries DC-

    operations to optimize DC-sales and profits. Knows the regional economic, market and industry trends and uses trend data to maximize opportunities and minimize risk exposure.

    Institutionalizes changes in culture, process, external relationships and business models. Recommends capital expenditures, investments and business expansion, coordinate management of projects and activities once these are approved by DC.

    Build competitive knowledge through organizing and participating in local events in all the countries in charge.

    Delivering financial commitments : Propose and implement DC-Target Agreement, DC-Budget and DC-Business Plan on all countries.

    Delivers financial commitments to optimize short term performance and long term growth while ensuring compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies.

    Ensures cost effective utilization of all DC-assets. Appropriately allocates resources to align with regional and global strategies.

    Conducts financial reviews to monitor business performance. Establishes appropriate budget goals aligned with external marketplace and internal strategy.

    Enhances and ensures financial forecasting accuracy.

  • Integrating the matrix through vertical and horizontal alignment : Works with local management team operating committee to prioritize objectives and ensure alignment with global / regional priorities.
  • Keeps the local leadership team focused, aligned, and integrated. Works to ensure that time and resources are appropriately allocated to all functions within the countries of Central American & Caribbean, establishes and works within appropriate governance models.

    Create synergies within the DC LATAM North Management Center.

  • Institutionalizing a culture of compliance and high performance : Communicates and sets the example for why compliance is integral to business success and achieving competitive advantage in the marketplace.
  • Establishes and monitors the financial and business controls and processes to follow internal and external rules and regulations for or within the legal entity.

    Ensures that all relevant Company Policies and Procedures are understood by the team and adhered to.

  • Attracting, developing and retaining diverse people : Establishes an efficient / effective organizational structure with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
  • Communicates clear performance expectations, ensures feedback / coaching throughout affiliate. Builds individual and organizational capability through effective implementation of Roche programs and practices and development of local strategies / initiatives.

    The mínimum requested profile for the Diabetes Care Business Head for Central American & Caribbean Countries are :

  • Ph.D., MBA, Master or equivalent
  • More than 10 years of experience in Marketing & Sales or Finance.
  • More than 7 years of experience of working in a Leadership Team, leading teams & leading leaders.
  • Previous experience in diagnostics / pharma / health care / medical devices is a must, all this linked to Diabetes Care.
  • Fluent in Spanish & English.
