Job Summary : Coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other members of the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal clinical and resource outcomes.

Minimum Requirements : Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing, Diploma Program, Associate Degree Program, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing, is preferred.

Must have current license or temporary practice permit to practice as Registered Nurse or Graduate Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Must successfully complete orientation including, but not limited to, successful completion of medication validation and written medication examination.

Must maintain current CPR certification.

Must be able to meet health standards for employment.

Basic computer skills, data entry required.

Preferred Qualifications : Associate Degree Program or Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.

Previous experience in Progressive Care Unit or one (1) year Step Down Unit preferred.

RNC or CCRN preferred

Licensure and Certifications : ACLS certification required within six (6) months of hire.

Completion of Critical Care Course (ECCO) within eighteen (18) months of hire.

Evidence of successful completion of the basic EKG course or ability to successfully pass PMC course exam within six (6) months of hire.

Trauma Nurse Course within one (1) year of assignment to department.

Four (4) Trauma related continuing education credits per year (ACLS, APLS, PALS, ABLS 4 hours for 2 day provider; 2 hours for 1 day refresher).
