Job description :

General Role Purpose (brief description of this job)

Reporting to the Supervisor, Forest Conservation and Environmental the Operator, Chainsaw is responsible for Trimming limbs, tops, and roots from trees, and saws logs to predetermined lengths, using chain saw.

Qualifications (required for job) & Knowledge & Experience

High School Diploma

Prefer a minimum of two (2) years operational mower / chainsaw / weedeater operator experience and training which provides the necessary operations skills, knowledge and abilities is required

Chainsaw operation qualification

Climbing Experience (pruning, use of rigging & lowering equipment)

Experience in Tree Removal is preferred.

Prior pole climbing experience preferred.

Ability and willingness to perform heavy physical work indoors and outdoors in all seasons and at times for extended periods.

Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Ability to climb or use authorized equipment to reach various heights and breadths. ( Machete , fumigation equipment )

Ability to gain knowledge of the methods, materials, and tools in line construction and maintenance work.

Have general knowledge of different mobile equipment used for tree removal

Core Specific Responsibilities & Expected Deliverables Operate various power equipment. Prepare equipment on a daily basis to be as productive as possible onsite including fueling, cleaning, greasing and performing preventative maintenance in a regular proactive manner.

Work to standard safe working procedures and actively participate in HSE initiatives. Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects.

Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to Supervisor . Understand and comply with fire and disaster plans;

follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies. Ensure that waste is disposed of daily and in accordance with established sanitation procedures.

Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Operational Requirements

Cobre Panama is a remote site. This exciting position is based on-site and will be focusing on driving and delivering operational accountability and ownership across various units at Cobre Panama site.

Rosters and working hours may vary depending on business requirements.

Environmental Responsibilities Comply with current environmental regulations in Panama Comply with the commitments contained in the Environmental Impact Studies and other additional studies in this regard, which apply to your area and activities.

Comply with the provisions of the Minera Panama Environmental Management System.
