General Role Purpose (brief description of this job)

Planner Maintenance Is responsible for producing, updating and monitoring detailed plans for executing maintenance activities.

Qualifications (required for job) & Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in the mining industry.
  • Project Management Certification or training is highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of planning and scheduling
  • Proficient in the use of MIS or maintenance management systems
  • Strong organization skills
  • Sound computer literacy skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Core Specific Responsibilities & Expected Deliverables

  • Develop project maintenance plans, budgets and forecasts in accordance with the maintenance planning procedures.
  • Support Maintenance Supervisors in daily task allocation.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Mine Planning and Maintenance Execution on maintenance plan works (+12W) that directly affect the company's production targets and prioritize their execution.
  • Update maintenance planning documents (i.e. work packages, check lists, asset register, materials list, etc.)
  • Track weekly and monthly equipment performance and work management targets
  • Control expenditures to comply with Area budget. Opex and Capex.
  • Maintain an accurate forecast that adheres to established maintenance strategies, while supporting premier asset management strategies.
  • Assist with monthly cost forecasting, annual budgeting, and cost analysis
  • Align performance measures with mine's business targets / site KPIs
  • Develop asset strategies and load the maintenance program.
  • Work with Reliability Engineer to identify critical spares parts list based on reliability centered maintenance approach and review the stock levels to ensure parts are available.
  • Update PM requirements with feedback from supervisor and crews and data from completed work orders.
  • Develop standard task list for reoccurring ad-hoc and urgent work.
  • Track and expedite parts and material for long lead items.
  • Work the maintenance planning (+12W) in JD Edwards, upload all maintenance information and keep the database up to date.
  • Critically review maintenance policies and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Perform duties as required.

  • Operational Requirements

    Cobre Panama is a remote site. This exciting position is based on-site and will be focusing on driving and delivering operational accountability and ownership across various units at Cobre Panama site.

    Rosters and working hours may vary depending on business requirements.

    Environmental Responsibilities

  • Comply with current environmental regulations in Panama
  • Comply with the commitments contained in the Environmental Impact Studies and other additional studies in this regard, which apply to your area and activities.
  • Comply with the provisions of the Minera Panama Environmental Management System.
