You will work closely with the Financial Services External Communications & Media Relations Leader to bring visibility to IBM's expertise in the global financial services industry, a sector which accounts for nearly 40% of the company's revenue.

This role requires creativity in leveraging client wins, IBM announcements, thought leadership, industry trends and news cycles to identify earned media opportunities and craft timely, interesting and relevant pitches that synthesize complex technology and financial services industry topics.

Using your strong storytelling skills and your extensive experience working with the financial services press, you will secure media engagements, including phone, podcast and video interviews, bylined articles, media tours and informational briefings.

To be successful, you must come to work with a ?sleeves rolled up? attitude and possess strong writing and presentation skills.

You should demonstrate the ability to work closely with business partners and other communications colleagues, as well as actively cultivate mutually-beneficial relationships with media and other influencers.

You must be comfortable working independently as well as with large cross-company, multi-disciplinary and global teams in order to accomplish goals.

Responsibilities : Serve as a trusted communications advisor to IBM's banking, insurance and financial markets business leadersDevelop and execute earned media communications campaignsDevelop written storytelling content, including pitches, blog posts, press announcements, social-media posts and other external communicationsIdentify, advise on and execute high visibility executive speaking opportunitiesFocus on telling the IBM story regarding hybrid cloud and data and artificial intelligence (AI) as aligned to the financial services industry through industry trade publications and beat reporters at top tier outletsCollaborate with business and marketing team leads on content creation, new product and thought leadership initiatives, to drive integrated earned media communications programsPlace media stories on IBM innovations and IBM executives that demonstrate technology and business leadership in national top-tier businessPartner with corporate communications colleagues, geographic communications teams, internal communications experts, social media colleagues and others to maintain cohesive messaging in support of IBM's global strategyMonitor, measure and report periodically on media coverage, reach and share-of-voice resulting from outreachThis position is permanently remote, however, if a physical location is desired, New York, Washington, DC or San Francisco are preferred.
