Job description :

General Role Purpose (brief description of this job)

  • The Procurement Supervisor - Services will provide support to the Supply Chain Department - Contracts Area, in the organization, direction, and supervision of the Procurement Officers - Services' activities;
  • regarding to planning and executing the Request for Quotation / Information (RFQ / RFI) processes for on-demand and / or tactical / operational services required for the sustainability of the Cobre Panama Mine operation.

    Qualifications (required for job) & Knowledge & Experience

  • Specialization in Supply Chain Management is preferred.
  • Degree in Industrial Engineer, Businness, Economics or Legal
  • Master in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement or related field.
  • A minimum of five years (5) prior managing procurement teams experience, providing support to operations as part of a Supply Chain team in comparable environment (mining or industrial sector).
  • Previous experience of JD Edwards in Purchasing & Contracts or similar ERP
  • Experience in developing commercial strategies, business recommendations and be able to lead supplier negotiations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong influencing, stakeholder engagement and change management capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to function and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Knowledge of any ERP system and JDE Oracle will be advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of the local supplier market.
  • Experience in supervision of international and local purchasing activities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office application.
  • Core Specific Responsibilities & Expected Deliverables Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama, Company's policies and guidelines and in particular the Contracts area procedures and the Company Local Procurement Policy.

    Responsible to organize, provide direction and supervision to the assigned team of Procurement Officers - Services in order to accomplish the work objectives.

    Carry out the daily monitoring of the Procurement Officers - Services performance and provide constructive feedback and mentoring.

    Provide expert advice to the Procurement Officers - Services team related to specialized topics : RFQ / RFI strategies, negotiations, and claims management.

    Anticipate and escalate to Contracts Superintendent the critical issues with the Contractors in order to avoid potential conflicts.

    Carry out technical review of the Contract Officer's deliverables Service Orders documents, communications with contractors, quotes analysis / evaluations, among others deliverables related to the Services Orders Process ensuring the compliance of relevant procurement procedures.

    Provide support, guidance and mentoring to End Users and other internal stakeholders regarding to the applicable Supply Chain guidelines, practices and processes.

    Verifies and ensures integrity of the entire procurement lifecycle, validates that all activities are carried out in accordance with the relevant procedures, maintains sound business practices in an ethical manner.

    Perform other related duties as required.

    Operational Requirements

    Cobre Panama is a remote site. This exciting position is based on-site and will be focusing on driving and delivering operational accountability and ownership across various units at Cobre Panama site.

    Rosters and working hours may vary depending on business requirements.

    Environmental Responsibilities Comply with current environmental regulations in Panama Comply with the commitments contained in the Environmental Impact Studies and other additional studies in this regard, which apply to your area and activities.

    Comply with the provisions of the Minera Panama Environmental Management System.
