1. SCOPE OF WORK
The Field Engineer has the responsibility to assist the Camp Services Coordinator on monitoring and reporting the camp alterations and upgrades projects to a high standard.
The field Engineer reports directly to Camp Services Coordinator, while interfacing with other department managers, project coordinators, finance, and admin staff.
The Project Field Engineer is responsible for the preparation of work-plans, budgets and progress reports, ensuring quality, deadlines and submission to the relevant stakeholders through the line Manager.
2. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Oversee the implementation of the projects activities in the various camps
Ø Develop reports and the planning outlining milestones for each upgrade, new camp or alteration.
Ø Identifies opportunities for efficiency in procurement
Ø Liaise with relevant departments including management teams on schedule interruptions and delays
Ø Ensures consistent scheduling is up to date and followed up on
Ø Monitoring daily operations and ensure projects are completed according to expected timelines
Ø Develop and Maintain records of all project schedules.
Ø Organize and maintain files, certificates of occupancy, Permits
Ø Defines and implements inspection requirement for construction work to assure conformity to drawings and specifications, NFPA regulations
Ø Highlights any risks associated with upgrades and alterations
Ø Reviews proposals for field changes and substitutions and contributes recommendations
Ø Ensures quality, quantity and completeness of the assigned tasks
Ø Fully understands business development concepts and methods and provides support to proposals.
Ø Fully versed in the collection and / or evaluation of data and information regarding technical and economic factors including physical, chemical, environmental, maintenance, operational, regulatory, constructability, and / or schedule factors relating to a specific subject within a discipline.
Ø Can integrate all project functional requirements including but not limited to Safety, in Country laws, regulations and compliances into a complete project plan.
Ø Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
3. SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES AND SPECIFICATIONS
Ø Experience in Project Management Administration
Ø 2 years’ experience
Ø Degree in civil engineering or related field
Ø Knowledge of building codes, international standards, NFPA 101 requirements.
Ø Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Ø Proficient in the use of planning software
Ø Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ø Spoken English is desirable
Ø An excellent communicator and able to work with all levels of the organization.
Ø Self-motivated with strong initiative.
Ø Excellent customer service skills and strong customer focus.
Ø Attention to detail and high standards of performance.
Ø Reports directly Support Services coordinator
Ø Liaison with all HOD’s
