Fixed Term Appointment
UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives.
To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.
Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.
And we never give up.
The Private Sector Fundraising (PSFR) section within the Private Fundraising & Partnerships (PFP) works with National Committees and UNICEF regional and country offices to maximize income and drive income growth globally.
Within the PSFR, the Global Philanthropy (GP) team serves the global strategic lead for fundraising and partnerships with High Net Worth Individuals and Foundations.
At the same time, PFP has established Regional Support Centres (RSC) in UNICEF Regional Offices, including Latin America and the Caribbean (LACRO), to provide integrated strategic oversight, support and guidance to UNICEF fundraising teams in designated PSFR countries in each region.
The RSCs collaborate with independent UNICEF National Committees, which may be located in their region. The job will be managed in a matrix arrangement, formally reporting to the Senior Adviser, Global Philanthropy, in New York, whilst also being fully embedded and collaborating closely with the RSC team in Panama, and having a dotted line reporting accountability to the LACRO Chief, Private Sector Fundraising.
The post-holder will thus significantly contribute to the delivery of the annual workplan of both the Global Philanthropy and LACRO RSC teams, taking responsibility for driving growth towards global strategy targets.
As a member of the RSC team and GP team respectively, the post-holder will have particular responsibilities to ensure effective communication, strong collaboration, and to seek alignment on priorities.
For every child, Hope
The post-holder will act as focal point to drive strategic growth of private philanthropy among High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) and Foundations in the LACRO Region.
The post-holder will directly oversee cultivation and solicitation of the highest value prospects for UNICEF among high net worth individuals in line with the global HNWI prospect list, and global foundations strategy.
The post-holder will coordinate effectively with corporate and major donor fundraisers in country offices in the region and collaborate closely with the RSC staff working on market development offering strategic advice where needed.
