The Assistant Counsel I, Legal Marketing will deliver high quality support to the business in collaboration with the ELC Legal team New York and Panama.
The Assistant Counsel I, Legal Marketing will be responsible for advising and counseling clients on advertising compliance issues related to products and programs developed by Global Product Development and Marketing for all media and formats including, but not limited to TV, print, and digital / social, .
This role requires a strong understanding of advertising law and claim support requirements for cosmetic products.
All candidates must be highly proficient in the English language.

Roles and Responsibilities
Position based in Costa del Este, Panamá.
Provide legal support to internal clients on legal issues related to global marketing and advertising programs in all media and formats including, but not limited to the development and approval of claims for TV, print, digital / social packaging, promotions, etc.
Conduct legal review of product claims and marketing materials; review and provide guidance on clinical testing, consumer research, and other support data.
Respond to advertising challenges, and inquiries.
Provide client education and training on relevant legal issues, support business marketing needs and efficiencies.
Advise and consult with all levels of the organization including brand leadership to identify critical legal issues, assess potential legal options, and provide individuals and teams with an analysis and range of possible legal solutions.
Exercise independent judgment related to Company legal matters.
Expert proficiency in written and spoken English is required. Excellent communication in Spanish and any other language is a plus.
Experience working in reputable law firms, multinationals, shared services, and / or with international clients.
Experience working in a multicultural environment with a diverse workforce.
Cosmetic or consumer goods industry experience strongly preferred.
Experience with legal marketing or advertising.
Strong understanding of advertising regulations relating to cosmetic, and over-the-counter drug products.
Excellent writing and editorial skills with a high degree of editorial-like attention to written detail.
High emotional intelligence, strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Effective communication and problem-solving skills, excellent judgment in decision making, ability to understand and synthesize complex issues.
Ability to form strong relationships with business partners and serve as a counterpart to the Marketing, Product Development, and R&D teams.
Ability to form strong relationships with legal partners as member of global legal marketing team while working remotely.
Strong technical skills with experience in Microsoft Office 365 and workflow management systems.
Must possess the ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency in appropriate situations.
