Key Accountabilities and Challenges

Technical Accountabilities

Responsible of the training and evaluation of all the trades positions who work at the workshop. In all interventions, the trainer’s work is based on safety standards.

Identifies the needs of training according to the technical specs of the equipment.

Develop training plans by trade according to the standards and the characteristics of the various equipment’s.

Assists in the realization of training tools (technical documentation, audio-video support) and defines the teaching aids and the tools necessary for the trainings.

Ensures the good progress of trainings and makes sure of the quality of it, responds to the legislative and corporate requirements.

Produces reports and statistics required in his field of activities.

Plan the annual training of technical service personnel, according to the number of hours available for training by levels.

Keep a record of the number of training hours, courses, evaluations and certifications received by the technician.

Manage, load and verify the training times in the DB.

Cost Management & Reporting

As directed, gather inputs specific to your area during the budget preparation process.

Accountable for approval of purchases and expenditure within delegated limits of authority.

Compliance / Quality Control

Promote and adhere to appropriate internal methodologies, policies, procedures and standards.

Consistently maintain a high quality of work across all allocated functions.

Provide input / informed commentary, improvement opportunities and areas of risk to management.

Ensure the quality of work output is achieved against company standards and monitored daily to ensure delivery meets expectations.

Actively contribute an improvement culture by actively encouraging employees to participate in continuous improvement.

Staff Supervision

Provide day to day supervision, acting as a technical reference point and mentor for staff to ensure work outputs are in line with daily and weekly business plans.

Monitor performance and develop review plans for all direct reports.

Conduct formal career development discussions with employees to identify development opportunities and direct them to programs that can assist with defining future career progression possibilities.

Ensure fulfilment of staff against agreed rosters patterns and notifying management of gaps created during leave periods.

Identify training opportunities for the unit and work with the Training department and management to implement such initiatives.

Promote and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety Policy and Procedures through consistently demonstrating and encouraging safe work practices.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Contributes to team effort to reach the goals.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Education

BS degree or formal qualifications in Training and / or Learning

BS degree in mechanical or electro-mechanics engineering.

Skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong ability to work in a "team" environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to maintain self-discipline within a stressful environment.

Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment

Experience

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in training and / or development roles in a business environment.

Minimum 5 years’ management experience, including staff supervision.

Proven track record of success.

Ability to develop solutions in challenging environment.
