Job description :

General Role Purpose (brief description of this job)

In reporting to the Training Supervisor, the Safety Trainer is responsible for providing technical assistance.

Support that includes training, administration, organization, coordination and recording of training data in the company's Training Database that guarantees the production of up-to-date and accurate reports.

Qualifications (required for job) & Knowledge & Experience

Education

  • Diploma in Training or related field, Occupational Safety and Training.
  • Diploma in Teaching Andragogy or Coach of coaches, facilitator of Leaders, similar.
  • Database of highly valued skills.
  • Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Great ability to work in a "team" environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Excellent organizational skills. Meticulous attention to detail. Understanding of the basic principles of cost control and accounting.

    Ability to evaluate and prioritize tasks. Computer fluency is essential with emphasis on MS Office and SharePoint programs, Simple Tracking, other.

    Ability to maintain self-discipline in a stressful environment. Strong ability to work in a "team" environment. Ability to maintain self-discipline within a stressful environment.

    Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment

    Experience Minimum experience of 5 years in planning training in occupational safety or administrative function. Experience in managing and coordinating safety training.

    Training management experience. Exposure to a highly prestigious complex mining environment.

    Language Fluency in English is required and proficiency in Spanish highly regarded. A willingness to undertake language training desirable.

    Core Specific Responsibilities & Expected Deliverables Prepares Occupational Health and Safety training material, complying with all relevant and applicable laws of Panama and FQML.

  • Creation of training modules, tests, training practices, others. Provide training in a motivating, dynamic and participatory manner to all MPSA personnel who require it;
  • complying with the HSE policies of Cobre Panama. Maintain HSE standards and ensure strict compliance in training activities.

    Comply and promote compliance with all relevant and applicable laws of Panama. Maintain HSE standards and ensure strict compliance within the area of operation.

    Assist in the creation and development of the different Safey and occupational health training topics, as well as their promotion, distribution and implementation.

    Maintain statistical reporting system and complete weekly and monthly reports and as required by the Supervisor (KPI, daily or weekly training reports, logged data).

    Compliance with training activities and provide support in the different areas of the project such as : Port, Mine, TMF, Penonome and where required.

    Assist in the coordination and issuance of training for visitors, suppliers, government personnel, contractors, employees and other personnel requiring safety training at the mine site.

    Assist in the preparation of training quotations with external training suppliers, specifically related to specialized training requirements.

    Record and update training events, through the records system and files in the database in accordance with FQML standards.

    Review and respond to training requests and activities on the different platforms : Training Request Platform, LMS, Avetta, My Compliancen, Sherepoint, mailings and others.

    Assist with requests for training activities to other departments in a professional and respectful manner. Liaise with support staff and other non-technical staff in the workplace to maintain efficient maintenance of operational assets and systems.

    Collaborate in budget preparation and monthly review by cost center. Ensure accurate and open communication and coordination with various individuals throughout the company.

    Make efficient use and care of all company equipment and assets. Perform and complete the inspection of the vehicle unit assigned to the department and upload it to the My Compliance platform.

    Participate in scheduled Safety Training meetings. Actively participate in the dissemination and execution of the PIENSE program.

    Operational Requirements

    The role is characterized by long hours and early days in high volume and high-pressure environment. The incumbent will need to be able to provide safe, effective care in a manner that considers each individual's need for comfort, privacy, and respect.

    Cobre Panama is a remote site. The position is offered as Residential on site.

    Environmental Responsibilities Comply with current environmental regulations in Panama Comply with the commitments contained in the Environmental Impact Studies and other additional studies in this regard, which apply to your area and activities.

    Comply with the provisions of the Minera Panama Environmental Management System. Participate and contribute to safe practice and environmental awareness.

    Ensure all Safety and Environmental incidents are addressed & reported promptly. Demonstrate personal commitment in regard to safety and environmental practices.

    Identification of potential hazards and action that is appropriately taken.
