Job description : Purpose


Engineers professionals motivated to collaborate and develop their capabilities within the Maintenance Engineering area.

Applying his knowledge in the search for improvement opportunities in each of the processes where he will operate.

Key Accountabilities and Challenges

  • Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama.
  • Maintain HSE standards and ensure strict compliance within the process plant control room.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe and professional manner. Be guided in all work by the precept that the safety of personnel and equipment is a top corporate priority.
  • Report and follow the instructions of the Planning and Reliability Superintendent with whom he will be coordinating the areas of responsibility.
  • Develop activities within the assigned area in the areas of reliability and Planning.
  • Preparation of management reports, identification of improvement opportunities in the different processes of the maintenance area.
  • Analyze the information on failures and events of the fleet in charge, establishing action plans with the reliability engineer of the responsible fleet.
  • Analyze the health information of the machines and detect faults in progress, establishing the action plans in conjunction with the condition monitoring analyst.
  • Perform inspection and testing routines on mining equipment.
  • Implement FQM Way culture in the Control Room team - "Bolder, Smarter, Driven, Together."
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Education
  • Tertiary Education at the Engineer level is required (Certified Engineer)
  • Maintenance Management Courses
  • Engineering careers related to the role. Electromechanical, electrical, mechanical, industrial engineering etc.
  • Skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to work in a "team" environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain self-discipline within a stressful environment.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Experience
  • Experience in heavy equipment maintenance workshops.
  • Language
  • Fluency in English is required and proficiency in Spanish highly regarded. A willingness to undertake language training desirable.

    Cobre Panama is a remote site. The position is offered as Residential or BIBO. Professionals with residence in Panama are welcome to apply.
