Global BSS / OSS Director

Core Responsibilities

  • The B / OSS Director will be required to deliver End-to-End Solutions for the products, creating winning proposals and successfully delivering within budget, based upon a DevSecOps delivery strategy.
  • The B / OSS Director will be responsible for the delivery of the agreed global roadmap of products ensuring roll out on time and ensuring roll out in the markets under Tigo quality standards.
  • The B / OSS Director will follow established Enterprise Architecture.
  • The B / OSS Director will be responsible for the entire life cycle of the multiple solutions and needs to show detailed knowledge of the processes involved at each stage of project planning and execution, as well as methods for resolving issues that can occur throughout.
  • The B / OSS Director will ensure proper tracking and communication of the progress of the different initiatives part of the agreed roadmap ensuring adequate engagement among all relevant stakeholders (business units, procurement and other factory areas both local and global)
  • The B / OSS Director will ensure adherence to Enterprise Architecture framework and if any gaps identified will present topic for evaluation.
  • The B / OSS Director will ensure that all development practices are in compliance with the employer's best practices policies and procedures

  • The B / OSS Director will support the Enterprise Architecture team to identify the appropriate software solutions and documentation based on the requirements and design elements contained in a system specification.
  • The B / OSS Director will be responsible to maintain and evolve software solutions documents based on evolving system requirements and industry trends and technologies.
  • The B / OSS Director will be responsible to ensure the overall integrity of the software solutions, around BSS and OSS IT Landscape, and validates it against the system specification.
  • The B / OSS Director will be responsible to coordinate efforts with all the operations to maximize resources and standardized solutions, based upon new DevSecOps strategy.
  • Key Interfaces

  • Works with external partners and suppliers to ensure all development requirements are met for the development of the system
  • Liaises with business users of systems collating feedback to ensure all user needs are met
  • Keeps management informed of project status through periodic status reporting and project updates
  • Works with multiple technical teams and global technology solution providers for B / OSS applications and solutions to define and execute joint technology according TIGO strategy
  • Manages the vendors for the B / OSS platforms and B / OSS related systems
  • Engages with all internal stakeholders on their requirements and manage their expectations on the current OSS / BSS system.
  • Resolves application issues and bugs in a timeous manner, whilst keeping customers informed.
  • Engages with all areas of the business to design & implement the new evolution of B / OSS system.
  • Liaises with other functional / departmental managers to understand all necessary aspects and needs of operational development, and to ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, purposes and achievements.
  • Maintains awareness and knowledge of development DevSecOps B / OSS methods and provide suitable interpretation to directors, managers and staff within the organization.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science (preferable), related field (System Engineer, IS Engineer, Information Systems Engineer) or Management.
  • Post grade and / or courses in Software Architecture.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working in the IT industry (Telcos).
  • Minimum 3-year experience Head of B / OSS in IT Telcos.
  • Understanding of DevOps, DevSecOps and agile principles.
  • Understanding project management principles.
  • Be familiar with UML specifications.
  • Experience in management and contracts (Software factory preferably)
  • Experience

  • Strong knowledge and solid experience in Business Processes for Telco’s (eTOM Model preferably)
  • Strong knowledge and solid experience in processes and applications (Telco domain)
  • Strong knowledge and solid experience in Order Entry, Order Management, Billing, Charging and fulfillment Systems, processes and applications (Telco’s)
  • Understanding ITIL policies and procedures
  • Knowledge in developing and maintaining DevOps teams
  • Knowledge and experience in project management. Must have very strong skills in Project Initiation especially in requirements gathering, understanding the level of detail required to proceed with any project, project estimation, planning and rapid mobilization.
  • Good understanding of computer systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities
  • Experience in link and apply complex technologies to business strategies. Comprehend complex, technical subjects.
  • Experience on previous Digital Transformation Programs on Telcos (minimum Tier 2 / Tier 3).
  • Understanding ISO standards in general and specific in UML.
