The Financial Institutions Group (FIG) is a client focused franchise providing tailored and unique solutions to leading financial institution clients around the world, offering strategic and financial advisory services on a wide range of M&A transactions and capital-raising activities, including acquisitions, mergers, divestitures, financial restructurings, underwriting and distributing equity, debt and derivative securities, and providing coverage across the entire ICG offering, including Markets, Securities Services, Treasury and Trade Services, and Issuer Services.

FIG focuses on clients in the following sectors globally : Asset Management, Banks, Diversified Financials, Financial Technology and Insurance.

The FIG CCA Cluster Head , is a regional leadership position responsible for implementing the global strategy to be the best for our clients and market leadership across the ICG offering, delivering results through senior client relationships as trusted advisers, effective management and development of the FIG CCA team and other firm resources including capital, coordination with product partners and other stakeholders across the firm, and focus on risks and controls.

Corporate finance, risk & capital management skills, a strategic One BCMA / ICG mindset and execution focus are critical abilities to success in this role.

The business is composed of 100 client relationships with revenues of $120mn.

This role will report to the BCMA Heads of CCA Corporate Banking.


  • Execute growth plan which delivered through people, client and franchise management meeting both revenue and other goals related to budget, risk management, and credit allocation in partnership with Global Capital Market (GCM) and Risk
  • Understand market trends to identify growth opportunities, anticipate obstacles and communicate a forward-looking vision that is responsive to changes in the environment
  • Drive client planning, product agnostic cross selling, client access, and effective capital allocation within the Institutional Client Groups (ICG) Coverage Banker proposition
  • Work with team and partners to manage overall client relationships and provide a wide range of treasury and corporate finance solutions across the ICG offering, as well as support our advisory efforts by building and maintaining Trusted Advisor relationship with client seniors
  • Partner with Investment banking team to drive and execute episodic transactions and with key stakeholders, including Risk and GCM, to allocate capital prudently, appropriately and in adherence to all Citi risk policies
  • Ensure client relationships and proposed client solutions meet or exceed internal risk and return standards, including stringent ethical standards and anticipated future changes in the marketplace
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the Firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices
  • Escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of direct & matrix reports as well as the broader Team, and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
  • Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in people management
  • Credit Officer preferred
  • Corporate finance skills; Experience debt structuring and markets solutions. and other strategic solutions across the ICG offering
  • Demonstrated ability to balance between internal management and externall client time
  • Demonstrated understanding of compliance issues and regulatory requirements
  • Proven leadership skills and intellectual capability to create momentum and a collective agenda across multiple products with a diverse population and competing priorities
  • Demonstrated intellectual grasp of the industry and ability to anticipate and lead our response to future changes and translate vision into executable plans
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with pragmatic approach to ensure limited resources are directed appropriately
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Education

  • Bachelor's degree / University degree from a top economics, business, or financial engineering program or equivalent experience
