What's The Role?

The Communications Specialist is an important role within the Communications function of Liberty Latin America (LLA) and reports to the Director, Communications.

This role will be responsible for supporting LLA’s internal communications, providing functional communications support, liaising with the broader communications team across our markets, and leveraging various channels to inform and drive employee engagement aligned to LLA’s overall business objectives.

The Specialist will develop plans and execute compelling company-wide campaigns to drive greater employee engagement through excellent written communications, collateral materials, and creative executions.

The Specialist will work closely with the Director, Communications in developing content to ensure internal audiences are appropriately apprised of business happenings reinforcing our company culture and building our profile as an employer of choice.

Communications

  • Supports Communications by informing, engaging and energizing employees through compelling storytelling
  • Draft communications that meet specific objectives with clarity, appropriate tone, accuracy, and balance
  • Contributes to Communications initiatives including managing content, timelines, and the distribution of communications through various channels
  • Find new and innovative ways to bring stories to life, through audio, video, and interactive storytelling
  • Provide bilingual writing capabilities, including translation from English to Spanish and vice versa
  • Create exciting content that reflects the company’s strategic priorities
  • Proactively identify important initiatives and events across the company and work to ensure appropriate coverage is incorporated into our communications channels
  • Identify opportunities to repurpose content and extend life and relevance of existing material
  • Work with the Communications team to produce and deliver communications deliverables
  • Respond to queries from internal stakeholders and identify the appropriate course of action
  • Support the planning and management of internal events including coordinating with vendors
  • Build cross-functional relationships to remain aware of important news, developments, and initiatives
  • Manage the communications calendar, working closely with full Communications function to populate
  • Culture Ambassador

  • Act as an ambassador for the company’s culture and infuse it into communications materials
  • Budget Support

  • Coordinate with vendors to assist in maintaining financial records, tracking purchases, invoices, and payments, while keeping organized records of our projects
  • Knowledge & Experience :

  • 2+ years of professional experience in news media, corporate communications, journalism, or publishing
  • Experience with internal / employee communications, preferred
  • Experience with researching and writing compelling, comprehensive communications materials
  • Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills with a focus on creativity and quality
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment with a can-do, positive attitude
  • Demonstrate calm under pressure while handling multiple deadlines and requests from various stakeholders
  • Professional style that can work with a broad range of internal stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to remain focused in a matrixed environment
  • Ideas-oriented and adaptable, capable of managing feedback while maintaining high standards
  • Proven skills in project management
  • Comfortable working in a cross-functional environment to ensure work gets done efficiently
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with diplomacy
  • Bilingual English / Spanish
  • Preferred education / qualifications :

  • Degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field.
