Purpose of the Assignment Under the overall guidance of the Child Protection Regional Adviser, the consultant will develop an action plan for the LACRO child protection section based on its strategy, guide its implementation, testing and adaptation.

The consultant will support the LACRO child protection section in facilitating knowledge gathering, exchange and use across the areas of child protection, and cross sectoral on the themes of migration and violence against children.

The end result of the consultancy is a light, effective, easy to manage knowledge management system that strengthens the technical leadership role of LACRO in child protection, migration and violence against children.

Specific Tasks - To develop an implementation plan for the KM strategy, operationalize and test the same, and then adjust- To produce or maintain knowledge management products such as e-bulletins, document library, discussion forums, webinars, internal / external website, in line with the strategy and action plan - To source data for the knowledge management system in close coordination and cooperation with the COs and ROs- To support the knowledge capture, such as through producing a reporting and monitoring dashboard, and webinar documentation and recording Expected Results - A knowledge management implementation plan- A set of knowledge products that are used and sustainable Deliverables - Draft Implementation Plan- January ebulletin, and cleaning of internal SharePoint, monitoring dash board initiated, support for child protection regional KM events- February ebulletin, management of internal website, implementation of new KM product, monitoring dash board, support for child protection regional KM events- March ebulletin, management of internal website, continued testing of new KM product for internal use, support for child protectionregional KM events - April ebulletin, management of internal website, continued testing of new KM product for internal use, support for child protectionregional KM events - May ebulletin, management of internal website, refinement of KM product for internal use (adjustment / removal / addition), support forchild protection regional KM events, plan for external facing KM products- June ebulletin, management of internal website, refinement of KM products for internal use, support for child protection regional KM events, implementation of external facing KM products- July ebulletin, management of internal website, refinement of internal and external KM products, support for child protection regional KM events - August ebulletin, management of internal website, refinement internal and external KM product, support for child protection regional KM events, reflection exercise to confirm effectiveness of the plan - September KM products, KM implementation plan To qualify as an champion for every child you will have - Education : Master's or Advance University degree in Knowledge / Information Management with a Child Protection background, or in a Child Protection related disciplines with an information management background, or other related fields.

  • Work Experience : Five years of progressively responsible relevant work experience at the national and international level in child protection, as well as experience in knowledge management or information management;
  • Similar assignment(s) in LAC region and / or other parts of the world; experience working in the UN and other international development organizations an advantage;
  • strong written and spoken communication skills; proven capacity to work in an international environment. - Languages : Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

    Knowledge of French or Portuguese will beconsidered an asset. - Technical knowledge : Technical knowledge and expertise in Microsoft, web-based platforms and other products, tools and databases that can be used for knowledge management an advantage.

    Professional technical knowledge on child protection systems and issues Supervision : The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Child Protection Regional Advisor.

    Workplace : This is a remote, home-based consultancy. How to Apply : Application should be submitted online and should include : Resume, Cover Letter and Financial proposal.

    Qualified candidates are requested to submit daily and monthly fees in their financial proposal.
