Job description : Purpose
Responsible for coordinate and supervise the activities of control of the soil and concrete laboratory to guarantee the levels of quality with the samples taken, preparing all the test related to soil and concrete based on strong background experience working in a laboratory soil tests and coordinating the test related to the road work.
Key Accountabilities and Challenges
Plan, coordinate and evaluate laboratory activities to ensure an adequate administration of human resources and material resources.
Establish the criteria used for the selection, acquisition and maintenance of facilities, equipment and consumables used in the laboratory.
Ensure that the staff is fit for the tasks entrusted to them and coordinate the necessary training courses and feedback on Standards test procedures.
Ensure that the measures concerning the safety of personnel and environmental protection, are applied in accordance with current legislation.
Make available to everyone staff the procedures included in the Quality Manual and that the operating procedures contained in the manual, current, verified, approved, revised and dated are executed by all professionals of the Laboratory.

Appoint substitutes in all key functions
Coordination of the Survey of new Sources or Loan site.
Coordinate the quarry monitoring and reporting adjustments if necessary
Test and analyses samples to determine their content and characteristics, using laboratory tools or testing equipment.
Compile, log and record testing or operational data for review and further analysis
Maintain and update databases of lab test results
Assemble, operate and / or maintain field or laboratory testing, measuring or mechanical equipment
Perform inspection and required in-progress quality control of testing equipment and calibrate and / or repair testing equipment
Prepare or review technical reports on sampling, testing or recommendations of data analysis. Present results of laboratory testing via in person or written presentations to stakeholders
Keep the QA / QC Supervisor informed of any scheduled or scheduled activity

Strong leadership, motivational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Good cognitive and analytical skills to identify and report process shortfalls, equipment bottlenecks.
Good understanding of plant improvements and control strategies.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and able to assemble data and provide clear and accurate operational performance reports in both an upward and downward direction.
Ability to maintain self-discipline within a stressful environment.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
High school education / trade school
Must work well and at a productive pace under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines
Must, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
Math, analytical, and writing skills are required and must be willing to learn by doing.
Tertiary education in Civil Engineer or Structural Edification
10 Years’ experience working in Laboratory of soil and concrete.
Prior past experience working as supervisor or responsible of the laboratory min 2 years.
Fluency in Spanish is required and competency in English highly regarded.
Successful team builder.
Proven success in planning and organizing.
