Job Description : Purpose
The Business Intelligence Manager is part of the CCA Customer MKT Team and is responsible for coordinating and reporting all commercial data for Caribbean and Central America working closely with Diageo Marketing, Diageo Sales and Distributors.
Also to Lead performance tracking and insights generation to deliver outstanding results to gain share of market.
Ensures commercial plans are grounded in deep market, shopper and customer understanding, leveraging execution learning, with world class data management.
The incumbent will be required to receive and compile data from a number of sources, analysing, reporting into the organization, making data intelligence a source of competitive advantage to win against the competition.
Market Context :
The Caribbean and Central America (CCA) market is a Diageo business unit that generates approx. £226.7m NSV and OP : £123.
4m. The domestic markets represent aprox 70% of this NSV and FTZB 30%. It is the most profitable market in LAC both in terms of absolute operating profit and margin.
90% of our NSV is USD invoiced.
CCA is a very dynamic market with many opportunities. Our geographical footprint covers 37 countries, where different languages are spoken and we have a population of 80m, 52m of whom are LDA+.
Our model is a distributor based RTC with 57 partners. We also operate with six distributor Free Trade Zones and with two operators in the border between Mexico and the US.
We also manage several co-packing partnerships throughout the region, and Panama is home to our innovation technology center and principal warehousing operations.
The Scotch category accounts for 70% of Total NSV, predominantly playing in the Premium and Super Premium segments; Diageo share of market in Scotch varies from 45% to 75% across the region making us the number one player.
Decision Making :
This role support the Sales & Operational decision making process providing accurate and on time information needed to run the process in terms of Sell In, Sell Out, Depletions and Execution.
Provides solutions in delivering the best way to report data and M&E learnings and library of data into the organization.
Financial Responsibility :
Manage own T&E.
Although the role does not manage direct budget it project manages 3rd parties that provide database solutions supporting IT Manager and Customer Marketing Manager.
The role does not have direct financial responsibility but accuracy and timely reporting is key for the decision making process of the organization mainly through BPM scorecards data management.
Leadership Responsibility :
The incumbent needs to work along with Finance, Marketing, Sales, CP&A teams and our distributor partners, to ensure data is received and processed with quality and on time.
Manages relationships with Diageo Internal and External stakeholders, our distributor’s partners, and 3rd party data agencies as Interpidus for example.
Key Outputs / Deliverables :
Lead the Commercial Standard #4 monthly report
Analyze market, shopper, customer and business performance information, identifying relevant insight and opportunities to unlock growth.
Track business performance and execution KPI’s to ensure outstanding results and capture all the learning.
Deeply understanding of the business through trustworthy information from different sources (Nielsen, IWSR, Sell In, Sell Out, etc.).
Identified information needs. Developing and deploy the right tools to make easier, faster and better the data management process.
Develop and deploy formats, processes and ways of working that improve and simplify the tracking and understanding of business performance, execution KPI’s and market trends.
Analyze key business, market, competition, customers and shoppers’ information, identifying market trends and business opportunities / risks.
Making recommendations to generate unlock growth and support the team to generate action plans.
Coordinate great communication process to assure the understanding and use of information by the development and deployment of best in class reports, tools and plan to guarantee on time communication and understanding.
Supports the Costumer Marketing Manager on data management process ensuring the organization has all information putted together
Consolidate data from several distributors and manage the database delivering and an easy way to access the data within the organization, ensuring the reliability and delivery of market and commercial information sell in, sell out, and depletions, providing accessibility of this information to all members of Sales, Marketing and Customer Marketing teams
Keep commercial data and existing reports updated (BPM scorecard, sales driver tracker, depletion, CMKT Monthly Tracker, among others) working closely with Diageo Finance.
Coordinate along with an IT resource the implementation and maintenance of data management solutions for the business unit.
Benchmarks way of reporting, analysis and processes with other business units.
Keep Business Intelligence Library updated and warrant the access to all users.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Bachelor’s Degree required in Business or related field.
Proficiency in English and Spanish required.
Minimum 4 years of demonstrated experience in similar roles, managing data, commercial reports, analysis and insights within sales or research.
Computer literate : Excellent knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel and other management information systems.
Strong Analytical and presentation skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage and monitor data quality.
Good planning, organization and project management skills.
Proactive, self-starter and has a persistent and resilient push to drive business performance.
Is able to rapidly build a network across markets through the use of phone and computer.
