Key responsibilities and challenges
Coordinate field activities for compliance with the environmental management plan (PMA) of Cobre Panama.
Ensure the fulfillment of the commitments in the Environmental Impact Studies of the company and the applicable national laws in the Panama Copper Mine Project.
Preparation, execution and monitoring of the inspection plan for the operational areas. Preparation of monthly reports on follow-up activities.
Coordination of training for employees and contractors in environmental matters.
Preparation of environmental control procedures.
Execute and coordinate emergency activities related to the release of dangerous substances (hydrocarbons).
Prepare plans of field activities (weekly / monthly / quarterly / annual) to comply with PMA compliance and national regulations
General reports of findings and incidents in the MyCompliance system, generating and coordinating action plans against deviations and management of results in the system.
Ensure the execution of activities.
Identify training needs in environmental matters. Supervises the realization of training for collaborators and contractors.
It carries out the verification of the effectiveness of the training and awareness activities. Prepare reports and records.
Develop operational procedures for environmental control at the Mina, Planta and TMF sites. Elabora, related to the EMS (Environmental Management System).
Verify compliance with procedures.
It manages the purchase and reception of materials, equipment and elements for the Department of Environment Site Mina, Planta and TMF.
It supports administrative and logistical management of the Mina site environment group.
Prepare training plans (weekly / monthly / quarterly / annually) to verify compliance with PMA and national regulations. Maintain training records.
Develop, coordinate and execute the operational services of the Environment and the maintenance of the operational areas for environmental aspects in their operations.
Support in administrative management and logistics of the site environment group Mine, Plant and TMF.
Maintain an updated inventory of the quantity and conditions of the materials and equipment of the Site, Plant and TMF Site environment.
Prepare reports and records of environmental performance and improvements.
Manages services and management of contractors for the Department of Environment.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Technical or university studies in subjects related to environmental sciences or related areas.
Skills and / or Knowledge
Panama's environmental legislation, especially related to hazardous waste, water quality and industrial discharges.
Basic experience in management and implementation of ISO 14001
Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Power BI) user level.
Use of database systems. Desirable : use of GIS systems
Verbal and written communication skills
Driver's license type D.
Ability to solve problems.

Experience over 3 years in industrial operations or construction projects.
