The Investment Operations Department is responsible for generating a portfolio of high quality, creditworthy, and environmentally and socially sound projects that result in significant development impact.
The business cycle goes from the identification, selection, origination and execution of transactions to their monitoring.
The Department follows a matrix model, with three segment divisions covering Infrastructure and Energy, Financial Institutions and Corporates, and three transversal divisions covering Financial Products and Services, Advisory Services and Portfolio Management.
The Team :
The Financial Institutions Division (INO / FLI) supports a broad range of financial institutions ( FIs ) such as banks, mutual banks, credit cooperatives, financial and insurance companies, funds and microfinance institutions, among others, through debt and equity financing, guarantees and knowledge to promote economic development, job creation and the adoption of sustainable environmental, social and corporate governance principles.

Reporting to the INO / FLI Division Chief and in accordance with the needs of the INO / FLI Division, the selected candidate’s scope of activities shall include, but not be limited to :
What you will need :
Citizenship : You are either a citizen of Panama or a resident with legal permit to work in Panama.
Consanguinity : You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Education : You hold a Bachelors degree (Master’s or MBA preferred) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related fields (master’s degree is preferable, but not mandatory).
Experience : You have three (3) years of relevant employment experience as a financial analyst / associate or equivalent position at a financial institution or a consultancy firm.
Languages : You are proficient in oral and written proficiency in English and Portuguese; knowledge of Spanish and / or French is a plus.
