Position Summary

In order to implement and drive the success of our new procurement model, we are looking for a highly competent Price Risk Analyst for Commodities based in Panama.

As a Price Risk Analyst / Commodities you will implement the approved Price Risk Management (PRM) strategies and monitor the spread risk at both market and group level.

You will also conduct research and statistical analysis to develop and continuously improve hedging strategies. You will be part of an international team in a changing and complex environment.

A day in the life of a Price Risk Analyst for Commodities

  • Provide insights from terminal market to category lead (e.g. liquidity , participation, competitive insight) for consideration in the commodity price risk management (CPRM) strategy.
  • Provide recommendations to category lead on price risk tools (e.g. derivative solutions) to realize CPRM strategy, including simulation of scenarios based on different price risk tools.
  • Enhance current hedging strategies and develop new ones. Explore new hedging ideas.
  • Execute CPRM strategy (tactical implementation), maximizing performance against market and ensuring compliance.
  • Do front office reports compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • What will make you successful

  • University degree in Business Administration / Finance / Engineering / Computer Science / Statistics
  • Master’s in financial engineering is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar positions ideally including commodity futures and options derivatives.
  • Strong knowledge of statistics and solid programming skills (Python, SQL, Java or C++ is a plus).
  • Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS).
  • Proven experience with specialized tools and sources of information (e.g. hedging, futures and options, incoterm, pricing models, etc.).
  • Excellent English skills both in written and spoken, another language will be an asset.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with individuals across a complex organization.
