Responsibilities :

  • Work under all relevant and applicable laws of Panama.
  • Maintain HSE standards and ensure strict compliance within the work area.
  • Ensure that the work is executed in accordance with the established H & S standards (for example, insulation, blocking and labeling), quality and environmental.
  • Use electrically safe work procedures, in accordance with the National Regulations (NFPA 70) and industry best practices.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Use of basic personal protective equipment (PPE), hot canes, arc-resistant clothing, respiratory protection and places with safety labels, barricades, warning signs and devices to protect others from electrical hazards such as flash arc.
  • Have good cleaning standards in all designated work areas.
  • Use the best industry practices to solve problems, repair, repair and install associated instrumentation systems and control equipment, including, among others, transmitters, controllers, integrators, analyzers, recorders, positioners and radiation sources.
  • Operate, inspect and perform preventive / predictive / corrective maintenance on instrumentation and control system equipment.
  • Read and understand design drawings, diagrams, single line diagrams and any other technical information provided by the supplier, including, among others, installation, operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Install, maintain, solve problems and repair all control system equipment (up to the level of the IO card of the PLC), industrial network components, transmitters, controllers, integrators, analyzers, recorders, positioners and radiation sources.
  • Assist with the operation of several machines controlled by the process control system, including Primary, Secondary and Pebble Crushers, Conveyors, Gutters, Platform Feeders, Sag, Ball, Towing Mills, Flotation Circuits, Thickeners, Large Stations Pumping and Loading determination / elimination devices.
  • Answer the troubleshooting calls and take the necessary steps to make the equipment work again.
  • Operates a variety of devices, tools and equipment for testing, calibration and repair, including milliampere calibrators, Hart calibrators, voltmeters, ammeters, ohm meters, temperature / vibration testers / calibrators, among others.
  • Prepares detailed calculations that include labor and materials, and prepares lists of materials for continuous improvement projects.
  • Attend other areas, as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of equipment and materials through self-study and training.
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of records and documents related to the work done, as well as the maintenance of the red lines of the drawings.
  • Transmit and explain work orders; can make minor changes in material needs or modifications in assigned work due to material delays or other problems.
  • Communicate work order revisions, material delays or other problems to the supervisor and await further instructions.
  • Constantly inform progress to supervisors and keep information updated.
  • Responsible for making or modifying daily work assignments.
  • Continuously analyze the efficiency of the equipment, recommend and implement improvements and changes to maximize operations.
  • Implement the culture of FQM : "Intelligent, Bold, Proactive, Team".
  • Act as an intermediary for colleagues as needed.
  • Carry out any other work as assigned.
  • Skills, knowledge and experience

  • Education : Degree at the technical or technological university level (university education at technical level, technologist or graduate).
  • Knowledge of the OHS Law, Radiation Protection and / or weights and measures will be beneficial.

  • Specialized instrumentation knowledge in desirable mining environments.

  • Basic capacity of PLC programming, input and output cards.

  • At least 7 years of related experience in the field of industrial automation and / or large-scale instrumentation systems.
