Job description : Purpose
The Shift Maintenance Foreman is responsible of the crew’s supervision, execution and completion of the maintenance activities performed in Ancillary Pre Strip Workshop.
This role assists in ensuring the tasks of the Workshop checklists are completed with the highest quality standards as well fulfilling the necessary times.
Key Accountabilities and Challenges
Contributes that all maintenance mechanical works are completed in a safe manner and in compliance with established safe work procedures and systems.
Responding to unscheduled maintenance work so that impact on the operation is minimised.
Maintain HSE standards and ensure strict compliance.
Assist with the Supervision of contract personnel to ensure completed work in carried out safely, efficiently and effectively.
Participate in a call out roster.
Accountable for carrying out all duties in a manner that will minimise risk and maintain a safe working environment for all personnel within area of influence including contractors.

Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor or anyone else in the team.
Assist in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in the performance of plant and processes
Assures completion of assigned maintenance tasks by monitoring work progress, inspecting work performance and providing corrections of any deficiencies as necessary, redirecting work efforts to meet acceptable quality standards,
Assists with the development of a competent and efficient mechanical maintenance work force by training departmental personnel (as necessary) in the proper use of test equipment, hand and power tools, and shop safety, and demonstrating appropriate work methods.
Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
Assures that mechanical maintenance personnel have the equipment and supplies necessary to perform mechanical services by monitoring the use of supplies and materials and advising the Maintenance Supervisor regarding potential shortages, recommended replacement items, or related equipment needs.
Assists with performing and documenting backlog inspections and provides periodic status reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Bachelor degree in mechanical Engineering or similar.
Completition of High School Education is mandatory
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ability to work in a "team" environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain self-discipline within a stressful environment.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in similar maintenance roles.
Proven track record of success.
Ability to develop solutions in challenging environment.
Fluency in Spanish is required and proficiency in Spanish highly regarded. A willingness to undertake language training desirable.

Cobre Panama is a remote site. The position is offered as Residential or BIBO. Work hours and rosters may vary as required by the business.
