The HR of the Future will work across brands, geographies and cultures to support one global Maersk. Next to the Centres of Expertise and the Strategic Business Partners, the People Partnering Organisation is the largest part of the new HR organisation and the closest to our people.

  • To enable our future HR service delivery model we are establishing three People Partnering Hubs covering geographical regions : Bangalore, India, covering Asia Pacific;
  • Lisbon, Portugal, covering Europe & Africa; and San Jose, Costa Rica, covering the Americas.

    We are looking for a People Partner for the Central America Region who can support all the brands including APM Terminals and Maersk.

    The position will be located in Panama City, Panama to support HR leaders and colleagues as part of the new People Partnering Organisation across the Americas.

    About the position and what we offer

    The People Partner name says it all : you will partner with and support people in transitioning to the new HR organisation.

    You will primarily work closely with the Maersk, APM Terminals and Inland Service Leadership Team, also will provide support to the Regional Hub located in Costa Rica.

    This opportunity is unique, as you will support our HR leaders in a time of great transformation with advice and guidance in building a new Regional People Partnering team.

    You will also support in implementing the new HR processes and technology across countries in the region to deliver HR services to the business.

    At the operational level, you will work with local stakeholders and help with practical matters, such as ensuring contracts, support the delivery of the HR annual cycle and the transition to the new HR service delivery model.

    At a regional level, you will oversee the transition of the current HR organisation into the new People Partnering model.

    This means you will be the main point of contact for our HR colleagues working in the countries in the region, supporting them in delivering this transition locally.

    You will also collaborate with the Regional Project Manager, the Change & Communication and Organization Design workstreams within the central Project Team, and the Global HR Business Partner for the HR function.

    Key responsibilities

  • Be sparring partner to Regional People Partnering Leadership Team as they build the new Regional People Partnering team in the Americas.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners on the implementation of the People Strategy
  • Plan and coordinate regional activities related to deployment of the new regional organisational structure and ensure timely execution and aligned approach.
  • Responsible for regional coordination of all people moves in the HR organisation, being central point of contact for in-country HR across the Americas.
  • Deliver support, including HR operations to the People Partnering Organisation in the Americas, driving the annual HR cycle and providing tactical and operational guidance and coaching to leaders on HR all matters.
  • Connect with change management and organization design workstreams in the central HR of the Future project team, as well as Global HRBP, to ensure global execution alignment and consistency.
  • The role is based in Panama City, the People Partner will have a flexible work location between the locations of the APMM Group in Panama.

    As for the skillset and experience, we are looking for :

  • 3-5 years of experience as an HR generalist, HRBP or HRM.
  • Pasion to provide a best in class customer experience
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
  • Portuguese proficiency is a plus
  • Good understanding of Panama’s Labor Law
  • Structured work approach and a focus on delivering results
  • Experience in large international organisations and ability to navigate complex stakeholder matrix
  • Change management experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and proven ability to deliver through others
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Be self-driven, energetic, and have a can-do’ mindset
