All of the staff members at ISP share a common goal and that is to do whatever it takes to help our students reach their full potential as learners and as global citizens.
We recognize that education is a complex, dynamic process, and we constantly evaluate our practice to ensure that students are engaged, that they are appropriately challenged, and that they experience joy in learning.
Our research-based curriculum includes a blend of philosophies and approaches. We use the Common Core standards for Mathematics and English Language Arts.
In Math, we use a concept-based approach to develop skills that grow in complexity as children move through ISP. In writing we are implementing Writer’s Workshop and have agreements around reading instruction, which includes balanced literacy with independent and collaborative work.
Science and Social Studies units draw students into real-world challenges and situations and are complemented by work with STEM integration teachers.
Students stay fit and healthy in our physical education classes, they experience art and music in our enrichment classes, and they learn to appreciate literature through frequent visits to our comprehensive library.
Students are also exposed to daily skill-level Spanish classes to either introduce them to the language or expand their Spanish language abilities.
In addition to these special enrichment classes, our students are engaged in the social emotional realm as they have set aside, weekly classroom visits and lessons from their grade level counselor.
