The Cost Accountant position will have primary responsibility for maintaining accounts related to inventory, cost of sales, and manufacturing variances.
Uses knowledge of SAP and Legacy systems to analyze costs, collect data, and prepare reports that maintain the company’s cost accounting system.
Ensures that costs are allocated to established procedures. Gathers cost data on material purchases, labor, overhead operating expenses, etc.
Prepares variance analysis reports that compare budgets to actual expenses. Through close collaboration with Manufacturing, Operation and Procurement this Accountant will perform duties listed below : 1.
Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided to determine effects in cost 2.
Analyzing actual manufacturing cost and preparing periodic reports comparing standard cost to actual production cost 3. Make estimates of new and proposed product cost 4.
Maintain Cost Accounting System 5. Assist in Month end close of the General Ledger 6. Prepare and enter journal entries 7.
Analyze and reconcile General Ledger account balances 8. Participate in annual budget process 9. Special projects as required by management Requirements : Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree from an accredited College or University in Accounting Two to five years of cost accounting experience in a Manufacturing environment Must have relevant hands on experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards Advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, macros and other advanced functions Demonstrated success working in a team environment on multiple projects with changing priorities with the ability to work both on a team (as member and / or leader) and independently to deliver results SAP background is a plus
