The Global Legal Services Paralegal Trademarks is a support-level role that is part of the ELC Global Legal organization.
This role is responsible for supporting intellectual property activities, including but not limited to trademark search, clearance, preparation and prosecution activities and intellectual property contracts.
Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct trademark search, clearance, preparation, prosecution, renewal and docketing activities
Support the drafting and review of intellectual property agreements
Support patent-related activities
Minimum Education level : Bachelor's Degree or local equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience : 3 years
Required Language Proficiency : English, Spanish
Position based at ELC’s Shared Services Center
Cosmetic and / or OTC industry experience preferred
3+ years of trademark paralegal experience at reputable law firm and / or legal department of a multi-national company
Excellent written and spoken Spanish and English is required (with proven ability to communicate technical and legal language)
Support the ELC Global Legal team in Panama, New York and the regions.
Experience working with remote teams and / or a shared services environment.
Experience working in a multicultural environment with a diverse workforce.
Exemplary client service orientation and professional demeanor.
Experience with trademark search, clearance, preparation and prosecution.
Knowledge of international trademark law, policies, and processes.
Knowledge of patents and associated processes.
Ability to form strong relationships with business leaders and members of the trademark and patents legal team in NY.
Ability to execute in a complex matrixed environment while setting boundaries.
Ability to communicate effectively, exercise good judgment in decision making, understand and synthesize complex issues, and support the execution of business strategy.
