Job description : Purpose


Plan, coordinate and follow up with Expediting and Requestor on local vendors and land transportation of cargo to be delivered from Panama and Colon to Ciruelito, Mine Site and Punta Rincon.

To ensure the timely and efficient transportation of the company's purchase orders are delivered in accordance with the purchase order and outlined INCOTERMS in a safe, secure and on-time manner.

Part of supply chain management in charge of governing transportation requirements.

Key Accountabilities and Challenges

  • Organize transportation activities, including storage of goods, managing information accrued from point of origin to delivery, orchestrating transportation movements and arranging for services as necessary.
  • Coordinate and define required expediting-tasks for all placed purchase orders. Contact suppliers and update on progress and expediting reports as required.
  • Provide excellent and timely customer service to internal customers in fulfilling the procurement and inventory management process.
  • Expedite equipment and inventory when required and handle any unanticipated requests or other problems on the company's purchases.
  • Work in a diligent and timely manner on maintaining accurate information on each shipment within the company's ERP to ensure all departments have prompt and accurate information.
  • Report and update all logistic activities into the company's ERP software - JDE.
  • Execute logistics plan to move products and packages to reach destinations on defined schedules.
  • Review freight rates and other transportation costs to keep working costs low and investigate. alternate freight forwarding options.
  • Facilitate imports and exports in accordance with Panama regulations and INCOTERMS.
  • Process Inductions, monthly checkpoint accesses, processing of visitor letters, accommodation, control of trips made).
  • Creation of O6 in JDE according to the BU of the requesting department according to the movements, follow up on them and review the invoices, as well as receive them, and then send them to how many to pay by mail :
  • Assignment of movements to drivers based on daily programming.
  • Inspections every 3 months of equipment, inventory of tie-downs, fire extinguishers, spill kits (chains, belts).
  • Update, process and obtain all the documentation regarding the fleet : plates, insurance, records, weight and dimensions)
  • Obtain the waybill gate pass in some cases.
  • Carry out weekly reports every Friday of the logistics fleet, as well as Follow up on the maintenance of trucks and repairs of equipment in general.
  • Coordinating maintenance and repairs of the fleet. Raising all WO in JDE

  • Updating, sending and filing of driver sheets daily, Permits report, vacations. After signing, keep updated on the drive.
  • Worksheet with closings 15 and 30 of each month.

  • Daily programming of internal movements, as well as to and from Ciruelito. And the scheduling of ordering bottles of quicklime.
  • Perform weekly report of movements made by subcontractors separately
  • Coordinate with local hired transport and all internal cargo moves.
  • Provide to Security driver / truck information for access.
  • Control, report and reduce operational costs, and ensure cost consideration taken with all decisions.
  • Implement FQM Way culture in the Control Room team - "Bolder, Smarter, Driven, Together."
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and Supervisor.
  • Skills, Knowledge & Experience - Education

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain or relevant discipline, preferred.

  • Significant experience in fleet management and / or logistics
  • Previous experience with ERP systems JD Edwards), preferred.
  • Language

    Fluency in English is required and proficiency in Spanish highly regarded. A willingness to undertake language training desirable.
