Procurement at Nestlé :

To ensure that Nestlé achieves its objective of sustainable growth, a new Procurement Division has been created with hubs in Switzerland, Panama and Malaysia.

They provide a range of services, including the management of procurement for specific raw materials, packaging, indirect materials and other services.

The hubs also support markets with managing local spend.

To re-inforce our team, we are currently looking for a Legal Counsel to based in Panama. Your main mission will be to support the General Counsel in the management of legal affairs of Procurement globally, with a focus on the direct materials categories (commodities,packaging and ingredients)

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Providing legal advice and support to all direct material categories within Procurement
  • Supporting the ongoing legal requirements of the procurement company
  • Developing strong mutually beneficial working relationships with relevant clients and key internal stakeholders
  • Developing best in class form agreements and processes (including risk assessment) for above market transactions within Procurement.
  • Managing key legal projects as they arise
  • What is required?

  • Professionally qualified lawyer with a minimum of 3 years PQE (Common law background a plus)
  • Exposure to international business environments
  • A proven ability to deliver time critical, high visibility projects for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial law and practice, coupled with excellent contract negotiation skills.
  • The ability to apply the law to gain business advantage.
  • Understanding of derivatives’ markets and their legal implications would be an asset to ensure compliance of all activities and processes ran by the direct material categories teams, with focus on EU, US and Switzerland.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in making presentations and trainings will be a plus.
