What s the role?
To implement the Mobile Network Radio Strategy, following up activities execution and that projects are within set CAPEX budget, ensure implementation of the commercial strategy for mobile services.
Acts as the design authority for the Company’s mobile access network. The objective is to design the most cost-effective solutions to meet the business demands in terms of capacity and coverage.
The role is to find suitable solutions to implement the requirements from every local market, helping them to assess the competitive position and setting the right priorities aligned with the business strategy, improving NPS and reducing the cost to serve.
How you will add value?
Designs feasible solutions to implement the Mobile Radio Strategy, ensure that projects are within CAPEX estimates set and projects are executed on time according to the growth plan across LLA.
Compile a database of capacity and coverage requirements from regional VP-TOs
Follows and improves the internal process to be used by radio network design activities
Design the most cost-effective solutions to meet market demands in terms of capacity / coverage
Translate business requirements into network improvements, new coverages, additional capacity and network efficiencies to reduce costs.
Serve as a liaison with local Marketing / commercial departments to keep an updated list of upcoming sponsored and high-capacity events
Act as the authority in RF project acceptances, evaluate if projects were executed as per design and release projects to Operations
Support Country managers in presentations, communicate yearly RAN CAPEX allocations and escalate market necessities identified by VPTOs to be added to company yearly growth plan
Assist planning of mobile evolution roadmap, support new mobile product offerings and launches (Fixed Wireless, TDD LTE, 5G, VoLTE, IoT)
Prepare and keep updated the radio network design coverage estimations for existing and emerging technologies
Assist the local markets in developing and deploying emerging technologies, parameter optimization, and feature implementation based on engagement of various technical and non-technical groups from inside or outside the company (vendors) at a market or regional level.
Support the introduction of new technologies by procuring training and documentation material to the different areas
Provide detailed analysis to management to facilitate tactical and strategic decisions.
Build and manage vendor relationships
Provide 3rd level support to Operations and quality assurance activities to follow-up on tickets resolution and provide guidance
Provide baseline configuration management
Provide High level designs and low level designs for the execution of the Mobile Network Radio Strategy
What you need :
Preferred education / qualifications :
Bachelor level, Information Technology and / or comparable technical engineering degree.
Knowledge & Experience :
Expert knowledge in the areas of 3G, 4G technologies, design and optimization strategies applying relevant principles and concepts for the mobile networks.
Work with little
Ideally educated to degree level or alternate appropriate industry experience with 3+ years of experience in planning, engineering of operations either on an operator or a vendor.
Demonstrable experience of working in a large telco in a complex operational environment managing cross-functional teams.
Experience and appreciation of working in a customer focused environment essential.
Skills & Abilities :
Proven operational capability within Mobile Technologies having planned, designed or deployed large scale projects for a mobile operator or a vendor of mobile network technologies.
Work with little directions from management to drive the improvements needed in the network.
Can effectively communicate at all levels, translating complex technical language into high level executive narrative.
Ability to drive improvement programs across diverse and complex environments.
Proven ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external working partnerships at all levels through a collaborative approach.
Demonstrate strong influencing and persuading skills, encourage colleagues and teams to change established processes and achieve improvements and best practice.
Timeliness in all actions with quality consciousness towards services received and provided.
Organized and responsible person, able to work with minimal supervision or assistance
Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to form strong business relationships across multiple locations.
