Digital Product Manager - e-Commerce

Job Purpose

The Digital Product Manager for eCommerce owns the strategy, product roadmap, development, and overall success of the eCommerce platform and channels for B2C & B2B across the LatAm region.

The Product Manager will be responsible for gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, business owners (subscription, transaction, B2B), marketing and customer support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Strong ecommerce and product management experience is required.

Customer obsession, data focus, and comfort advocating for plans is critical to success. You should be comfortable coordinating product and engineering teams in a fast-paced environment in order to develop high quality, simple products and applications that developers and customers love.

Adoption and time to market are core responsibilities for the role. Product Manager will share best practices and support with our operations to support their growth and accelerate business impact.

Core Responsibilities

Design and development aimed at improving current Digital products or developing new ones to satisfy consumer demand and substantially contribute to Tigo’s revenues and profitability growth.

  • Determine overall strategy for eCommerce platform.
  • Create and communicate product roadmaps.
  • Develop a metric and KPI-based performance framework to measure the success of the eCommerce platform improvements, over time.
  • Monitor KPIs and provide reporting to key stakeholders on eCommerce identifying opportunities for optimization.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to execute product initiatives throughout the product development lifecycles.
  • Identify and prioritize new features and optimizations based on business objectives, metrics, and analysis.
  • Understand our overall company performance and priorities and translate that understanding into product roadmap decisions.
  • Manage cross-functional projects for roadmaps, including mobilizing members of the product team (as well as connecting with stakeholders outside of the core product team).
  • Manage and coordinate external vendors, contracts, relationships and technical requirements to continue to develop and enhance the eCommerce platform.
  • Provide regular communication to management on status updates related to web operations, including project timelines, milestones and deadlines.
  • Create a high level of website and mobile app functionality and deliver the optimal user experience.
  • Identify Digital solutions to key operational / commercial problems from the operations.
  • Engage in business development activities to scout, identify, negotiate and close leading digital companies in the industry to partner with Millicom across all LatAm regions that can accelerate the growth of our Digital Product portfolio and strategy.
  • Develop and share success stories, best practices, case studies and key performance factors from industry wide practices as well as Millicom implementations.
  • Able to manage both short term feature releases and longer-term roadmap.
  • Manage few million-dollar budget and relationship with suppliers / providers / partners.
  • Produce user stories by preparing the functional and technical specifications of new product or improvements of existing ones always comparing to ideal customer journeys.
  • Clearly establishes product milestones (or sprints) and objectives by detailing functionality at consumer and technical level.
  • Collect, organize and structure all additional information required to support the Statement of Work.
  • Analyze product requirements among customers.
  • Recommend new products and help the marketing team create effective strategies.
  • Manage the known product defects, while putting in timely requests to make modifications or adjustments to the product.
  • Monitor all incoming and outgoing requests for the product in time for timely product releases.
  • Help teams and leaders understand and make choices about product and project scope, priorities, MVP, and delivery dates.
  • Facilitates team meetings, including Daily Stand-up, Iteration Planning, Iteration Review, and Iteration Retrospective.
  • Help guide priority decisions and remove roadblocks.

  • Calculate the available team capacity for the iteration. Discuss each story, elaborate acceptance criteria, and provide estimates using story points.
  • Determine and agree on the iteration goals. Commits the team to the goals

  • Lead Iteration Review scrum meetings to go through Iteration Goals and discuss their status. Proceeds with a walk-through of all the committed stories.
  • Demands a demo from each completed story in staging environment.

  • Provide updates to leaders on project progress, and choices that could affect the budget, timeline, or strategic vision.
  • Key Interfaces

  • Works with external partners and suppliers to ensure all development requirements are met for the new developments on time and on budget.
  • Liaises with business users of systems collating feedback to ensure all user needs are met.
  • Keeps management informed of project status through periodic status reporting and project updates.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Marketing, Operations, Product, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • Master’s degree (MBA) is a plus.
  • 5+ years in product or project development or engineering, especially in the eCommerce space.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive the development of similar requirement, testing, and process documents for unlicensed spectrum is a key requirement.
  • Managerial experience in medium to large size organizations.
  • A born product development native with substantial knowledge on product definition, development, and life cycle management.
  • Strong experience leading global teams
  • A well-rounded communicator, collaborator, and presenter who loves to share findings and actionable insights.
  • Highly desirable to have ScrumAlliance or certifications.
  • Experience

  • Superior people management and project management skills, but also a hands-on’ attitude to work.
  • Strong understanding of Product Management practices.
  • Experience with eCommerce platforms implementations such as Vtex, ElasticPath, Magento, BigCommerce, Shopify, etc.
  • Organized, detailed self-starter who is resourceful and able to effectively prioritize competing assignments.
  • Highly skilled in facilitating meetings and creating and delivering presentations to a variety of in-person and remote audiences.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of digital products, understanding of digital ecosystem, and how to create engagement and high growth for digital audiences thru innovative concepts, apps and content.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish languages a must.
