Job description : Purpose
Purpose
To ensure the timely and efficient transportation of the company’s purchase orders are delivered in accordance with the purchase order and outlined INCOTERMS in a safe, secure and on-time manner.
Part of supply chain management in charge of governing transportation requirements.
Key Accountabilities and Challenges
Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama.
Maintain HSE standards and ensure strict compliance within the company’s policies.
Act at all times in a professional and confidential manner.
Organize transportation activities, including storage of goods, managing information accrued from point of origin to delivery, orchestrating transportation movements and arranging for services as necessary.
Coordinate and define required expediting-tasks for all placed purchase orders. Contact suppliers and update on progress and expediting reports as required.
Provide excellent and timely customer service to internal customers in fulfilling the procurement and inventory management process.
Expedite equipment and inventory when required and handle any unanticipated requests or other problems on the company’s purchases.
Work in a diligent and timely manner on maintaining accurate information on each shipment within the company’s ERP to ensure all departments have prompt and accurate information.
Report and update all logistic activities into the company’s ERP software JDE.
Execute logistics plan to move products and packages to reach destinations on defined schedules.
Review freight rates and other transportation costs to keep working costs low and investigate. alternate freight forwarding options.
Control, report and reduce operational costs at all stages of the supply chain within the logistics discipline and ensure cost consideration is taken with all decisions.
Facilitate imports and exports in accordance with Panama regulations and INCOTERMS.
Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Attributes, Knowledge & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree
Background in International trade, Logistics, Procurement or Finance highly regarded

Knowledge and Experience
3 years of logistics experience
DG Handling Experience
Freight forwarding and customs clearance process knowledge
Working knowledge of JDE or Oracle based ERP software
Microsoft office knowledge
Language
Fluency in English is required and proficiency in Spanish highly regarded. A willingness to undertake language training desirable.
