Job Description Summary
El Gatun Panama Project :
All resources, and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site / property. These activities contribute to, maintain, repair and refurbish sold or existing products.
Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering.
Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning / execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures.
Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Roles and Responsibilities
All on site life extensions, repairs and inspection-related service activities for installed fleets and supervision for construction and commissioning of new and existing equipment, able to be performed at customer site.
Includes onsite machining, NDT, blading, winding, critical welding, generator diagnostics. Able to make Engineering decisions.
Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy / strategy.
In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks.
Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
A job holder at this level should be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or is an early people leader who can hire and develop talent.
Provides informal guidance to new team members
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
troubleshooting the turbine excitation / LCI system.
Pre-outage and installation planning; possibly recommending and administering policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
This role requires advanced experience in the Services & Field Services. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience)
Certified GE Electrical Engineer for AVR, Gas and / or Steam Turbine roles
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering and 5 years of experience, or 7 years of experience without formal degree in power plant maintenance, turbine generator maintenance, or power plant equipment installation / commissioning.
Successful completion of required TFA III training programs is a minimum requirement
Fluent and proficient in both spoken and written English
Desired Characteristics
The Electrical Technical Field Advisor, manages the activities of the electrical systems on site during the installation, commissioning and maintenance of gas and / or steam turbines (generator).
Responsible for interpreting the field procedures, plant engineering documents and electrical schematics, troubleshooting of turbine / generator electrical systems, planning, organizing, integrating, and directing resources such as labor, tools and materials as required to complete the work scope in accordance with contractual requirements.
