We are seeking a Regional Head of Gender Transformative Programming and Influencing with a passionate commitment to girls’ rights and equality for all children to provide visionary leadership, direction and motivation across the Region of the Americas (ROA), consisting of the Sub-
Region of Central America and the Caribbean and the Sub-Region of the Americas.
In this role you will provides regional leadership in developing skills, tools and capacities in gender transformative programming in Plan offices and staff across all countries in the region.
Together with the Regional Director, Regional Deputy Director and CD’s, you will set the influencing priorities and ensure adequate focus of the influencing agenda for the region to achieve clear results.
You will also build and maintain constructive relationships with National Organization representatives and current / potential donors across the region.
The Head of Gender Transformative Programming and Influencing will ensure that a clear vision, consistent message and coherent approach is driving momentum on for gender transformative programming to promote gender equality in all projects in the Region.
This position will lead a small regional team and also be responsible for oversight and coordination to Global Girl Campaigns in the region and leading a series of initiatives that will inspire transformative change on gender equality.
Do you have what it takes?
In order to succeed in this challenging and varied role you will require an in-depth knowledge of gender transformative programming and the links between gender equality, children’s rights and NGO development programming practice.
You will be passionate about and committed to your subject and well-connected within the gender transformation and influencing networks.
We are seeking an individual who is both a technical expert and a strong people leader and manager, able to build, develop and motivate a diverse team and positively influence programmatic work, ensuring continued improvement and review.
In this role you will also require an excellent understanding of the practicalities of designing, implementing, and evaluating high quality programmes that promote gender equality and girls and boys empowerment and the ability to communicate theoretical concepts like gender transformative change in simple terms and to apply these to practical solutions.
