DescriptionJob : Global Power Provider Project DeveloperLocation : PanamaJOB DESCRIPTIONDevelop a clear understanding of Cat product line and associated strategy development in packaged solutions to the market.

Understand the TCoE required by client and to formulate plans with Cat GPP(s) or Dealer(s) to design, track, and deliver an aligned winning strategy for various opportunities.

GPP Project Developer will build regional and internal partner relationships with major customers aligned to sales objective achievement.

Develop and execute account & market-based strategies for specified regions to drive equipment and aftermarket sales opportunities to market.

The role requires the establishment of high-level relationships with business decision makers, senior leaders, and opportunity championsDevelopers will have the ability to identify Balance of Plant (BOP), potential challenges to deliver business needs and problems.

Develop and implement market strategies for key industries and customers as well as securing commitment of Caterpillar and Dealer resources to assure continued customer satisfaction.

This position will act as a consultant to various departments within Caterpillar regarding the direction, product, and commercial strategies that key industry leaders will be adopting in the future.

Consult with dealers and districts about sales channel delivery and service support of product to ?corporate account? customers.

Travel in the field to develop, monitor, and resolve issues regarding customer satisfaction and future product needs.This position will travel throughout the region making regular visits to project & dealer locations, foreign and domestic, to provide advice, strategy, and counsel to potential customers.

The incumbent ensures account decision makers have been fully exposed to the features / benefits available from Caterpillar products, dealer, and marketing before they finalize purchasing decisions.

Must communicate effectively across product, industry, dealer and / or customer audiences to gain understanding and acceptance of ideas and recommendations.

Must have ability to work independently and with people from many different backgrounds and cultures, internally and externally, with the appropriate influence and ability to resolve differences.

Good human relations skills are required to develop a collaborative / cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the business unit.

Generally, requires extensive travel to understand regional or worldwide business conditions.Position works independently with considerable freedom of action and is broadly subject to functional policies and ultimate goals.

Manages the compliance of its own assignments and keeps up to date with new industry trends, changing technology and regulations affecting the competitive environment.

Basic Qualifications : * Requires a degree.* Proven expertise in development of temporary power solutions and implementation of power generation projects.

  • 5+ years rental specific industry experience with top tier global rental companies.*10 + years of industry specific International Power Project (IPP) experience.
  • The incumbent must have Utility Sales of Energy background to include an equipment selection experience.* Advanced English and Spanish* The position travels extensively (70%+)Behavioral Skills : * Excellent communication skills* Able to deal with time & business sensitive issues, mentor and coach, and / or persuade others on new methods of equipment application, new technology and distribution methods.
  • Top Candidates will also have : * Proven ability to perform financial analysis related to energy sales and spot sales* Proven ability to develop relationships with individual plant generation on energy production and associated gap or shortfall opportunities that may exist.

    SummarySeasoned sales and project development professional responsible for the development of Microgrid and International Power Project (IPP) style projects aligned to the Caterpillar product lines in Natural Gas, Diesel, HFO, other fuels and technologies as required.

    The GPP Project Developer should be able to build relationships at both dealer & client level, define and qualify opportunities to deals, facilitate technical support for commercial package responses in RFP, RFQ, technical bid specification formats.

    Required skills will include commercial negotiation, Total Cost of Energy (TcoE) analysis, deal and delivery requirements to ensure project alignment of asset for success and build strategies around designated markets to include the creation of strong industry and client relationships at all levels required to deliver success.
