  • Position Summary

    We are currently looking for a Global Procurement Manager based in Panama, responsible for managing the commercial and sourcing activity for Packaging Resins Base Materials used by Nestlé worldwide.

    High involvement is foreseen in sourcing Recycled resin in order to support Nestlé achieving its 2025 sustainability commitments.

    Reporting directly to the Category Leader, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the category strategy for the spend in scope on a global level, utilizing strategic sourcing processes, tools and policies.

    You will be in charge of the sourcing of Polymers (mainly PE & PP) resins, Base Films, and recycled resins for Nestlé packaging applications.

    Your scope will include the following duties :

  • Direct sourcing of resins and base films for Nestlé plants;
  • Commercial and volume agreements with specialty film producers that will be used by our Flexible converters;
  • Secure volumes of recycled resins to support Nestlé in achieving its sustainability objectives;
  • Perform plastic consumption analysis to drive recycled contend sourcing choices;
  • Track resins market trends, provide comprehensive monthly reports including resin forecast to internal stakeholders;
  • Support sourcing teams in charge of Flexible and Rigid Plastic converters with resin pricing guidance, index choices, price review mechanism etc.

    A day in the life of a Global Procurement Manager for Packaging Resins Base Materials

  • Perform supplier market / category / supply risk analysis and develop Total Cost Ownership (TCO) models to identify improvement opportunities
  • Drive project implementation and supplier choice.
  • Track market trends using external subscriptions and suppliers network and provide regular forecast on market price evolution.
  • Run regular business reviews with key suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts ensuring the most beneficial commercial agreements with suppliers in line with the strategy
  • Manage the relationship with various stakeholders to integrate category plans and outcomes in local budgets and price planning
  • Track cost evolution of the category and provide forecast of sustainability cost evolution for the related scope.
  • Ensure compliance to Nestlé's Corporate Business Principles, policies and standards
  • What will make you successful

  • University degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance, or other similar fields
  • 3 to 6 years of experience in Strategic Procurement ideally at a global level
  • Experience in Packaging and, more precisely, Resins is a clear asset.
  • Successful track record in handling negotiations
  • Independent character and can-do attitude
  • Very good analytical skills
  • Excellent relationship and communication skills
  • Experience in risk management, responsible sourcing, and supplier relation management
  • Understanding of National and International Procurement Regulations
  • Fluency in English is required
