General Role Purpose (brief description of this job)
The Business Improvements (BI) Supervisor will be responsible for executing site improvements projects across our different business units.
This role is responsible for job planning / execution / quality / safety and will be responsibility for coordinating / directing the job Forman to complete these projects.
The BI Supervisor will report directly to the BI Superintendent.
Qualifications (required for job) & Knowledge & Experience
Degree in Engineering or Design and / or 10 + years of industrial trades experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong written and communication skills.
Strong ability to work in a "team" environment.
Ability to understand Engineering drawings and schematics.
Ability to maintain self-discipline within a stressful environment.
Ability to coordinate multiple activities at the same time
Ability to take ownership of his / her decisions.
Fluency in Spanish is required and proficiency in English highly regarded. A willingness to undertake language training desirable.
Core Specific Responsibilities & Expected Deliverables
Responsible for the planning and execution of all activities while assume a lead role in ensuring the workers are adhering to Cobre Panamas safety standards and policy.
This role will be responsible for the site execution of multi-disciplinary activates (mechanics, structural, welding, piping and civil) for either new installations or retrofits / modifications to existing equipment.
Responsible for ensuring that each worker, for all disciplines, maintains and practices Cobre Panamas highest level of personal safety on a daily basis.
Responsible for ensuring that each job is executed in accordance with industry best practices.
Responsible for ensuring the quality standards are being met, in accordance with International codes and standards.
Responsible for completing projects safely and on time.
Responsible for giving daily job progress updates to the Business Improvements Superintendent.
Responsible for conducting daily site safety audits on MyAudits.
Responsible for personnel monitoring, merit evaluations and assessments.
Responsible for assessing the training needs of his / her employees in regards to professional development, safety awareness and personal behaviour.
Responsible for documenting actions that require disciplinary measures and escalating these issues to the Business Improvements Superintendent.
Responsible for identifying which tools, equipment, parts need to be ordered.
Responsible for maintaining the tools and equipment that have been allocated to the department, and ensuring monthly safety inspections are being carried out.
Responsible for perform all duties assigned in a safe and professional manner.

Cobre Panama is a remote site. This exciting position is based on-site and will be focusing on driving and delivering accountability and ownership across various units at Cobre Panama site.
Rosters and working hours may vary depending on business requirements.
