What the role is about

The Regional Controller works in collaboration with the local operations team. This position will report directly to the VP of Finance Operations, will help to keep updated the developments and initiatives for accounting for the country under its responsibility.

What you will be doing

Management

  • Oversee the accounting and finance operations for transactions and locations in the country.
  • Manage banks and outsourced functions.
  • Transactions

  • Maintain an orderly accounting reporting, filing system and a system of controls over accounting transactions.
  • Approve payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
  • Review country payroll in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed.
  • Reporting

  • Issue monthly financial statements for the country
  • Coordinate the preparation of the corporate monthly, quarterly and annual report for the country.
  • Monthly, 60 days, 90 days and annual forecast.
  • Annual budgets.
  • Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics.
  • Prepare weekly cash flow forecast.
  • Compliance

  • Oversee compliance with local and state reporting requirements and tax filings for the country
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
  • What you need for the role

  • 5+ years of Finance & Accounting experience in the hospitality industry
  • High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting (accounts payable / general ledger, financial chart of accounts, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of and corporate procedures and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, etc.)
  • Fluent or capable of working in English and / or Spanish
  • Must have strong work ethics and be well organized and a self-starter
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
