As part of Millicom’s drive for continuous improvement, through the execution of our Digital Lifestyle strategy (optimizing its business), this role will be responsible for i) an efficient management of transfer pricing compliance for Millicom operations, ii) designing and implement tax processes and related tools to improve the operational efficiencies and iii) working with different stakeholders in order to ensure high quality special projects management execution, and iv) support and monitor tax risks mitigation actions

Assisting with coordinating and reviewing transfer pricing group compliance obligations including Master File, Local Files, OpCo transfer pricing obligations and / or related transfer pricing compliance
Assisting with coordination, reviewing and maintaining the management fee structure and monitoring transfer pricing policy compliance within the group
Assistance in research and review the quality of the region transfer pricing documentation continually, through regular communication, training, review and engagements with country executives to understand local perspectives and requirements.
Support countries to maintain evidence and documentation required in defense of tax authority audits and queries
Support the Transaction tax Senior Manager by executing tax processes effectively and analyzing non-usual transactions and its impact in financial figures
Analyze movements on Transfer pricing and non-usual transactions risks to support the disclosure in the interim financial statements
Assisting with managing of Transfer Pricing risk mitigation and tax audit input. Support in selected international tax audits, develop appropriate positions, monitor mitigation actions and plan and execute required changes going forward.
To model and evaluate alternative transfer pricing positions
Provide tax advice & business partnering to Procurement, Commercial, Technical and Legal functional areas providing practical solutions to cross-border transactions tax challenges
Effectively manage WHT treatment consistency between group companies
Support in the design and formal documentation of improved and standardized tax processes to be implemented across the group
Improve tax-related internal control procedures by monitoring closely the efforts performed in the countries and increase the group’s maturity grade through better documentation, archiving, meaningful KPIs, and support in the SOX compliance
Business partnering with Commercial, Technical, Legal and Procurement areas
Promote a cooperative communication between operation’s local tax teams and HQ tax team
Guarantee the quality and timely project management of special projects and tax planning initiatives. Coordinate with relevant consultant, manage budget and spend, review and challenge deliverables, follow up the information gathering and target dates
Providing support to the accounting team on accounting for tax related issues resulting from intercompany transactions and determine the tax impact of non-usual transactions
Keeps management informed of project status through periodic status reporting and project updates
Qualifications and Experience
International income tax experience with a public accounting firm, major law firm, and / or in industry, preferably a multinational corporation.
Ideally a current in-house tax adviser with more than 3 years’ experience in transfer pricing and / or international tax field, ideally with Latam and Europe as a focus
Appropriate Finance / Accounting, Legal or Tax qualification. Strong knowledge of Finance and Tax concepts and functions, accounting principles and practices
Understanding of international corporate income tax principles. LL.M. in International tax or specialization in transfer pricing and / or Master in International Tax preferred
Fluent in English, Spanish is a plus
Organized, detailed self-starter who is resourceful and able to effectively prioritize competing assignments
