General Role Purpose (brief description of this job)

Lead and coordinate the execution of Housekeeping and General services in order to improve current practices and performance.

Oversee the establishment of processes, policies, systems and practices within House-keeping and General Services, which will maximize operational efficiency

Qualifications (required for job) & Knowledge & Experience

  • High School Diploma.
  • Hospitality Degree / Diploma or Technician in Tourism and Hotel Business Administration or related careers.
  • Previous experience in similar positions in hotels / camps management services.
  • Experience with Integrated Quality Management Systems implementation highly desirable.
  • Administration and Management Knowledge of business and management principles involved in resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Customer and Personal Service Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Quality Control Analysis Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Learning Strategies Selecting and using training / instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
  • Managing Performance : Ability to lead and supervise staff.
  • Client Orientation : Considers all those to whom services are provided to be clients and seeks to see things from clients’ point of view.
  • Establishes and maintains productive partnerships with clients by gaining their trust and respect.

    Core Specific Responsibilities & Expected Deliverables

  • Supervise and coordinate work activities of cleaning personnel in camp accommodation, hospitals, offices, and other establishments.
  • Organizes the work load and reviews action plans and schedules, as often as, required.
  • Investigate work related complaints to determine corrective actions.
  • checking for faults or damage and arranging repairs and routine maintenance work.
  • Complies with Company’s and legal standards in regards to but, not limited to safety, hygiene and environment
  • Assists in and supports the development of job hazard analysis worksheets ensuring staff are trained and aware of all the risks involved in their functions and adhere to all safety precautions.
  • Working with QA / HSE Team participates and supports audits and inspections around the camp facilities.
  • Partners proactively with the Housekeeping team to ensure all business-related laundry services are executed and delivered according to the laundry schedule.
  • Investigate complaints about service and equipment, and take corrective action.
  • Oversees and manages daily reports daily staff on Site, overtime, rotation scheduling, rooms management, discrepancies, inventory movements, etc.
  • Monitors and keeps up to date the use and inventory of materials and equipment maintaining minimum stock levels for reordering and ensures evidenced justification for reordering is provided.
  • Support organizational activities, as required.

  • Operational Requirements

    Cobre Panama is a remote site. This exciting position is based off-site and will be focusing on driving and delivering operational accountability and ownership across various units at Cobre Panama site.

    Rosters and working hours may vary depending on business requirements and occasional travel to the site is required.

    Environmental Responsibilities

  • Comply with current environmental regulations in Panama
  • Comply with the commitments contained in the Environmental Impact Studies and other additional studies in this regard, which apply to your area and activities.
  • Comply with the provisions of the Minera Panama Environmental Management System.
