CHAI is about to begin supporting Latin America on a COVID-19 related project focused on supply chain strengthening and catalytic implementation, using the best available tests and therapeutics.
CHAI will provide regional support for Central, South America and Caribbean countries by sharing key evidence and information with the Ministries of Health and Regional coordination bodies such as COMISCA (Council of Ministers of Health of Central America), CARICOM (Caribbean Community) and other regional bodies for South America.
CHAI will work with countries on gathering market intelligence for covid-19 diagnosis and therapeutics, and in understanding the regulatory pathways for new tests and treatment so they can be locally registered.
For demand creation and market shaping activities, CHAI will work at regional level and more closely with high-volume countries in providing the necessary evidence and information so the Ministries of Health can consider the use of diagnostics and therapeutics on a promptly manner.
Overview of role
CHAI is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong organizational and management skills to provide direct technical support to the Ministries of Health and other key Stakeholders in Central, South America and the Caribbean.
The Regional Associate(s) will focus primarily on supporting the Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean in assessing the current situation and market readiness for new diagnostic tools and therapeutics for COVID-19.
The successful candidate will work with a range of CHAI’s operational and technical staff as well as diverse national stakeholders, and will therefore need to possess strong communication and organizational skills.
She or he must be able to build and manage effective relationships, have strong communication and organization skills, while having a deep personal commitment to producing results.

The base location for this position will be Panama. This role might require travel to high-risk countries, with limited infrastructure and medical care.
