The Assistant Manager is the back-up and support staff for the station manager at one of Spirit’s smaller stations. The Assistant Manager oversees the work of a group of front-
line and supervisory staff employed by a third party service provider, to achieve all station goals and objectives operational, safety, people, regulatory, financial, and customer.
The Assistant Manager communicates and interacts with the airport authority, government agencies, other airlines, airport stakeholders and Spirit management to ensure the success of the station and the appropriate representation of Spirit’s brand.
Key responsibilities :
Ensure that the station meets or exceeds operational goals such as on-time performance, courtesy and friendliness, Mishandled Baggage Ratio (MBR), management of irregular operations, safety, security, cabin appearance, and compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements (DOT, FAA, ADA).
Assist in the planning of and maintaining of appropriate headcount, including future staffing for upcoming schedule adjustments.
Appropriately manage a service provider workforce and maintain a constructive relationship with leadership of the service provider.
Ensure that the station operates within established budget. Assist with development of annual station operating budget.
Anticipate future station needs ensure that they are appropriately budgeted for.
Meet as needed with airport authority, government agencies, other airlines and other airport stakeholders to ensure that Spirit’s interests at the airport are advanced and protected and Spirit’s brand is properly represented, while maintaining good relations with all groups.
Required skills / experience :
This position requires a United States B1 / B2 Visa or proof of eligibility to work in the United States
Bachelor's degree preferred
3 to 5 years of experience; In-depth knowledge of airport operations required.
10% travel is required
Excellent communication skills
Work under pressure while still maintaining near 100% accuracy
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Ability to work independently on multiple assignments
Highly approachable professional demeanor
Frequently stands, walks, sits, and uses eye / hand coordination, color definition.
Must be able to lift 75 pounds consistently
