The primary role of the Communications and Information Officer is to facilitate information flow to ensure that Plan decision-
makers and funders receive the information they require during an emergency response in a timely fashion. This will require strengthening and streamlining existing information management systems to respond to vastly increased time-
critical information demands and requirements from internal and external stakeholders / funders. A key responsibility of the Information Manager is also to support the editing and revisions of reports.
The purpose of the communication officer is to provide support collecting media material for fundraising internally and externally through stories and pictures, which illustrate the current situation.
To enhance and ensure the cross border coordination and cooperation of the humanitarian projects implemented by Plan International in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador Peru, under the Venezuelan Migrant Crisis Programme .
Engaging and building relations with key actors / stakeholders and donors of the programme (i.e. WFP, FAO, UNHCR, UNICEF,) at country and regional level and representing the programme at sub-
regional, regional and international fora and meetings. Provide in-country support as part of the steering committees for each new project under the programme.
Thus, working in close cooperation with the Emergency Response Programme Managers (ERMs) and Project Managers (PMs) in the four Country Offices to ensure that the projects are following the overall programme outline and logic.
Supporting resource mobilization for country office (CO), Regional Hub (ROA) and national organizations (NOs) at concept note and full proposal level by providing project design support and cross border information related to the Venezuelan Migrant Crisis Programme.

1. Information Management.
Produces a regional SitRep and monthly SnapShot document
Ensure all data collection and analysis has a clear focus on young girls, adolescent girls and young women.
Develops standardised systems to support operations such as contact directories, staff organogram, email distribution lists and knowledge directories;
Supports technical staff with providing input to cluster 3Ws
Supports on collection and analysis of Sex and Age Disaggregated Data (SADD).
Support on analysis of needs assessments and surveys.
Supports teams with data collation and the development of high quality visual products such as infographics, maps, tables, graphs,.
2. Communications and Influence
Coordinate communication material for external audience, working with local teams to develop informative videos, campaigns, etc
Liaise and provide programme updates and reports on a frequent basis and whenever required and requested with / to the 4 CDs and the RHDRM.
Participating in the regional meetings to update on Venezuelan Migrant Crisis Program status
Share with NOs and external donors, reports and updates on quarterly basis and provide input in their funding proposals etc.
Train CO teams on communication and information management.

Essential Requirements :
Requires telecommunication skills and proficiency in IT / computer skills (including sound MS excel and word proficiency)
Fluency in Spanish and English (mandatory)
Communication : Well developed written and oral communication skills. This includes effective negotiation and representation skills.
Integrity : Works with trustworthiness and integrity and has a clear commitment to Plan's core values and humanitarian principles.
Previous work experience in emergency contextPrevious work experience in the South America / Central America region
Experience as a coordinator for a multi-donor programme / project preferred
Networking and representation : demonstrable experience of organizational representation and engagement with humanitarian donors
Ability to work independently and as a team player and is able to collaborate with local and international staff and also able to work with disaster affected communities in a sensitive and participatory manner.
