What’s The Role

The Sr. Manager, DevOps is a passionate evangelist of DevOps Best Practices, Culture and Tools. Working with the Development and IT Ops teams to define and deliver DevOps pipelines covering the full application lifecycle in a complex enterprise environment with a mixture of Cloud Native SaaS applications, mixed with legacy on-premise COTS and homegrown systems.

The role is hands-on with the opportunity to build a DevOps practice from the ground up to drive LLAs Digital Transformation.

Knowledge & Experience

  • 5-10 years prior experience in Software Development or System Administrator role
  • 5 years prior experience leading a Development, Sys Admin or Dev Ops team
  • Deep understanding of DevOps concepts and best practices; Agile Project Management, Shift-left with CI / CD, Small Frequent Releases, Infrastructure as Code, Feature Toggles, etc.
  • Technical understanding and experience with implementing DevOps tooling across the delivery lifecycle; Jira, Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, GitHub, Bitbucket, Artifactory, SonarQube, Docker, Spinnaker, Selenium, NUnit, Robot Framework, Katana, ELK, Splunk, DataDog, etc.
  • Experience and training in agile development (Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc.) and exposure to Agile at scale methodologies (Safe, Spotify, LeSS)
  • Understanding of SRE concepts, including SLIs, SLOs and Toil Time
  • Familiarity with SOX, GITC and principles of DevSecOps
  • Strong record of people management in a technical environment, including communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to form strong business relationships across all functions
  • Extensive proven experience of project management techniques including planning, resource allocation, prioritization and escalation within an international telecom environment.
  • Strong vendor management experience. Expertise in driving operational efficiencies through innovative partner and vendor management
  • Demonstrate strong influencing and persuading skills, encourage colleagues and teams to change established processes and achieve improvements and best practice

    What You ll Do

  • Establish a DevOps Community of Practice with cross functional skills from existing Architecture, PMO, Development, QA, Operations, Infrastructure, Governance and Security teams
  • Design and Deliver a best practice DevOps pipeline to support our next generation technology stacks
  • Build reporting dashboards and insights across the pipeline to foster a culture of continual improvement and data-driven decisions on investment
  • Coach development and operations teams alike on the processes and mindsets required to gain speed, quality and governance in software delivery
  • Deploy, Configure and Maintain the DevOps tooling within the pipeline, including; ALM, developer IDEs, source control, CI / CD, test automation, configuration management, artifact repositories, analytics and monitoring.
  • Define and maintain documentation of architecture and technology standards, processes, and policies related.
  • Assess emerging technologies and stay up-to-date on new concepts to drive the efficiency of the DevOps practice.
  • Participate in high-level architecture roadmap design sessions to provide guidance on using DevOps practices in our Digital Transformation
  • Develop long-term technology roadmap, prioritization, resourcing and budgets.
  • Define and Assist in creation of governance practices, standards, and strategies, including Security Audits, SOX Compliance, Mobile Strategies, Vendor Assessments, Technology Readiness, Roadmaps, and Solution Architectural Diagrams
  • Protect employees, and brands by incorporating security and compliance in all decisions and daily job responsibilities;
  • follows security policies and procedures; continuously identify and recommend opportunities for improving security.

  • Manage vendor relationships for commercial tooling and services partners.
  • Contribute and support annual budget submission for DevOps initiatives.
