The role of a Service Sales Engineer is to develop and execute key account plans to expand customer base and customer share in Central America and the Caribbean.

Reach and maintain volume and profitability targets. Visit existing Alfa Laval customers in the territory, advise customers on Preventive or Predictive maintenance of Alfa Laval equipment and generate Sales inquiries.

Resolve customer’s problems or queries. Sale of spare parts and services to existing and new customers in several industries.

Manage key accounts and build good long-term customer relationships at all levels including senior management. Secure and maintain Performance Agreements with key customers.

Provide technical product support to customers. Periodic account reviews with customer and Regional Service Manager. The customer group will be the food and water industry which has Alfa Laval equipment.

Responsabilities include (but not limited to) :

  • Development of customer relationships and customer loyalty plan.
  • Has a good understanding of our value proposition process and has the skills to sell the value of our products and services.
  • Sets & negotiates prices in accordance with policies and guidelines provided by the Sales manager.
  • Provides input for the pricing strategy.
  • Responsible for the developing and maintaining sales and customer relationships.
  • Follows alternative solutions and products from competitors in the market.
  • Participates and / or organizes customer seminars and education programs.
  • Analyzes and selects prospects by using tools
  • Initiates and coordinates marketing activities with the Marketing department
  • Sells new services and upgrading solutions directly to the End Users.
  • Travels throughout the assigned territory to call on customers and prospects and ensures that all new products are professionally introduced.
  • Directly responsible for elaborating more complex quotes such as Performance agreements, Upgrading and Services.
  • Actively works with in the Internal sales team to secure success of spare part sales.
  • Improve / keep up to date the information in our CRM system.
  • Profile :

    Profile : Engineering degree, preferably Mechanical or Electrical. Knowledge / Abilities : · Knowledge of sales competencies (value selling, negotiation skills, sales planning) · Market and product knowledge (Alfa Laval Product Portfolio)· Experience with technical sales · Excellent relationship building abilities· Intermediate / Advanced English language proficiency.

    Experience : Minimum 3 years of experience in sales or commercial roles, ideally in technical or industry sales. Competencies : Capable to work in a hands on environment and complex organization, team player, resilience, work in a high pressure environment, dynamic and capable of adapting to different situations.

    Customer Service oriented, capable of working independently, goal oriented, self motivated, confident, flexible.

    Requirements : Availability to travel at least 70% of the time

    Can be Home Office based in Guatemala or based in the Panamá office.
