JOB PURPOSE : To successfully manage the sales, customer support, warranty and part sales departments; develop programmes and services to support sales, product lines, market segments and multiple brands.

Provide strategic product strategy.JOB RELATED STATISTICS : Production volumes : $40,000,000 Current (Plan $135M)Personnel : 15 - 3 managers, 1 supervisor, 9 salaried, 2 hourlyJOB DUTIES : This key position of a seasoned professional with 10 years plus of related experience including : Marketing, NPI, after sales support & service, sales & order management and management assignments.

Sole responsibility for engine and part sales, field operations, all customer accounts, service, NPI, pricing, marketing & promotion, warranty, applications, long term strategy, functional specification, S & Op process, market research, distributor appointment, training and development.

The role is also responsible for Worldwide cat Dealer training on product and liaison with the sales director to maximize sales.

Requires current understanding of customer / dealer markets and develops appropriate programmes to support product lines across market segments with multiple brands.

Applies product & industry knowledge in support of Cat, dealer & customer expectations in both the short term and long-term horizons.

Interacts with high-level professionals (internal & external) and must exhibit excellent communication and relationship building skills, in particular with distributor principals and dealer sales managers.

This role greatly influences Caterpillar's senior management to implement policies, marketing / sales programs, NPI programs and the hire of personnel.

The position manages the work of the department consisting of supervisors and staff of management / professional employees where monitoring & reviewing work of subordinates is required as well as training, developing and mentoring.

  • Responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of subordinates.Internal customers are senior management across multiple sites and business units;
  • supply chain, Operations and R&D functions. External contacts include distributor principals, all dealer sales and account staff, vendors, visitors to boat shows (trade & public).

    The position travels extensively.Employee may also be responsible for performing other job duties occasionally as assigned.

    BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE : Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Marketing or Arts curriculum, plus 10-15 years of relevant experience or a masters degree in an Engineering Marketing or Arts curriculum plus 8-12 years of progressively responsible job-related experience are typically required including engine and part sales, field operations, all customer accounts, service, NPI, pricing, marketing & promotion, warranty, applications, long term strategy, functional specification, S & Op process, market research.

    This position requires excellent analytical and interpersonal skills in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others and ensure specific actions are taken and followed through.

    Experience in more than one business or service unit would be helpful and global exposure with 60% of the job requires dealing internationally.

    Program / project management skills are critical. Must have strong communication and organisational skills. >
