Job description :
General Role Purpose (brief description of this job)
Leading a crew of maintenance workers, and subcontractors, the Shift Foreman ensures that work orders are completed on schedule and crews are fully utilized as per the weekly maintenance plan.
Qualifications (required for job) & Knowledge & Experience
Bachelor degree in mechanical Engineering or similar.
4 years related experience
Relevant Trade Certificate - Mobile Plant Mechanic (HD Diesel Fitter / Mechanic)
Previous Mechanical experience with skills necessary to meet applicable task proficiency matrix (i.e. troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, electrical and diesel engines with a primary focus on diesel equipment)
Fluency in Spanish is required and proficiency in Spanish highly regarded. A willingness to undertake language-training desirable.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret engineering prints.
Basic knowledge of tool geometry and application
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Core Specific Responsibilities & Expected Deliverables
Supervising the day-to-day activities of the maintenance team inclusive of contractors in a cost-efficient manner.
Ensure that planned outputs are achieved for all maintenance on equipment and coordination of activities align with the planned schedules.
Attend and facilitate shift pre start meetings.
Conduct work scheduling and supervise maintenance activities
Assign daily job tasks to maintenance and contract personnel.
Driving a safe work environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
Ensuring all maintenance repairs are performed in accordance with company guidelines and within time & cost targets.
Fully develops the capabilities of all maintenance employees assigned to through varied job assignments and increasing job challenges.
Promote compliance with mechanical / safety standards and guidelines.
Assist and / or carry out logistical activities, such as transportation and / or driving of vehicles, personnel, materials, equipment and supplies to and from work areas, camps and other company facilities, as required by the supervisor.
Provide leadership to the team and act in capacity of the Supervisor in their absence.
Perform related duties as required.

Cobre Panama is a remote site. This exciting position is based on-site and will be focusing on driving and delivering operational accountability and ownership across various units at Cobre Panama site.
Rosters and working hours may vary depending on business requirements.
