Job Description

The Security Manager of the market will be responsible for the management of programs and systems designed to protect employees, assets and our brands under the Corporate Security Global Policy and the 7 Non-

negotiables developed by the central CS team. The work will cover Risk Assessment, Training and Awareness, Protecting People and Assets, Conducting internal Investigations.

He / she is responsible for having a comprehensive understanding of all the businesses within the market and the risks faced to provide appropriate advice.

The incumbent will create and proactively drive security programmes engaging and enrolling stakeholders to ensure the continued safe and effective operations of the company.

He / She is a key contributor in managing and responding to crisis and / or events of significance.

The Security Manager also needs to establish and maintain close liaison with relevant law enforcement and government officials and will deliver security training and awareness to employees.

Provides professional security advice and consultation to corporate management.

Additional is responsible for assuring the physical security of facilities and personnel including conducting security vulnerability assessments and preparing high quality report including intelligence briefing, threats assessments and investigative reports.

Top 3-5 Accountabilities :

For each country within the market, ensure that the minimum standards of CS are achieved,

  • Manages and delivers security training and creates awareness for employees and provides advice to corporate management.
  • Builds and maintains effective contacts in relevant law enforcement, regulatory and industry bodies.
  • Leads and drives implementation of proactive programmes to mitigate current and emerging risks and trends according to global CS team plans
  • Leads the management of the day to day security requirements of the countries across our Market
  • Engage with Diageo employees in the security agenda when needed, as well as intervene with Government officials and other local entities in key situations that affect our reputation (i / e container detention, compliance matters , among others )
  • Ensures compliance with SARBOX, related CARM controls, Diageo Code of Conduct.
  • Qualifications and Experience Required :

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • English and Spanish required including strong command of written communication to be able to prepare documentation for corporate leadership or governmental agencies.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in similar positions
  • Good understanding of general security including : developing risk and threat analysis, conducting site surveys, crisis management.
  • Proven experience leading and coaching teams (own and / or indirect).
  • Ability to work around and within a variety of different market conditions and demographic factors.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and collaboration skills, with a range and adaptability of style.
  • Good planning, organization and project management skills.
  • High Integrity, proactive, self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to stay focused by constantly reassessing priorities and managing expectations within the business.
  • Ability to work confidently, persuasively and to gain the respect and trust of other senior managers.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
