We are currently seeking a talented Material Transport Supervisor to join our talented Commercial department.
Key Accountabilities and Challenges
Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama.
Maintain HSE standards and ensure strict compliance within the section.
Adherence to all FQM Cobre Panama policies and procedures.
Optimisation of supply chain logistics solutions.
Supervise workloads, schedules, tasks and other related functions.
Direct responsibility includes :
o Tracking contribute to establishment and maintenance of a coherent single source of shipping tracking information.
o Expediting intervention / direction where required in the shipment process.
o Transport arrange transport where required; scrutinize and approve / reject freight services invoices.
Weighbridge operations :
Harvesting of original shipping documents for processing and archiving.
Accurately record weight and commodity data using a windows based computer system to establish actual load weights as
vehicles deliver or remove materials to and from the site.
Dispatch of trucks to load / offload points as called off.
Ensure electronic registration procedure are observed on entry and exit of all weighable vehicles.
Ensure correct functioning, maintenance, and where necessary certification, of checkpoint office and weighbridge
Ensure that all employees, contractors and vehicles comply with :
Site safety standards.
National transport standards.
Environmental laws, procedure and processes.
Reconciliation of deliveries as required, together with process improvement where identified.
Ensuring all necessary statutory compliance and SHEQ is maintained.
External stakeholder alignment and relationship management.

Perform any other duties as assigned by the Logistics Superintendent.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
Highly developed communication and negotiating skills.
Problem solving, decision making and analytical skills.
Strong ability to work in a "team" environment while possessing the ability to work autonomously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Ability to maintain self-discipline within a stressful environment.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
At least 5 years’ experience in logistics and transport roles or in a similar position.
Familiarity with practices, processes and procedures throughout the supply chain.
Knowledge of supervisory practices, principles and techniques.
Knowledge of administrative practices and personnel management.
Previous mine site experience highly regarded.
Good verbal and written language skills in Spanish is highly regarded allowing reporting and negotiation.
